Sagittarius Health ~ Recommended Vitamins, Herbs, and Other Considerations (2085 hits)

People born between November 23 and December 21 incarnate under the astrological Sun sign of Sagittarius, known as the Archer (or Maven).

Sagittarius is the ninth sign of the Western zodiac, corresponding with the astrological Ninth House, which is the Travel House and deals with the activities and areas of travel (foreign travel), education, philosophy, law (jurisprudence), sports, trivia, and foreign cultures. People born under Sagittarius are fun, very ambitious and will display a great joy and like for the above activities and subjects.

Sagittarius is known as "the Adventurer" and thus has to do with the traveling nature of this sign. Its astrological statement is "I See (or Perceive)!" Sagittarius is a "Fire" sign. Fire signs are typically inspirational, active, fiery, and adventurous. Other "Fire" signs include Aries and Leo.

On the whole these are emotional, volatile types, quick to anger, quick to forgive. They are adventurous, powerful people and act as a source of inspiration for everyone. They spark into action with immediate exuberant impulses. They are intelligent, self-involved, creative, and idealistic. They all share a certain vibrancy and glow that outwardly reflects an inner fame and passion for living.

Sagittarius is a mutable sign. This means they are adaptable, versatile, and flexible people. Other Mutable signs include Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces.

Famous Sun sign Sagittarians include: Bruce Lee, Jamie Foxx, Richard Pryor, Brad Pitt, Cicely Tyson, John F. Kennedy Jr., Jane Fonda, Nicki Minaj, Jimi Hendrix, Samuel L. Jackson, Rodney Dangerfield, Bette Midler, AnnaMae Bullock (Tina Turner), Frank Sinatra, Phil Donahue, Tyra Banks, Jay Z, Anna Nicole Smith, Dionne Warwick, Sinead O' Connor, Sammy Davis Jr., June Pointer (of The Pointer Sisters), Redd Foxx, Ossie Davis, Florence Griffith Joyner, Adam Clayton Powell, and Flip Wilson.

Astrological Health Profile

Sagittarius governs the hips, legs, thighs, liver, buttocks, and the iliac arteries. Sagittarius is prone to diseases, disorders, and injuries of these particular body parts and organs.

Other diseases and disorders this sign is prone to include: Rheumatoid arthritis, Hepatitis, Jaundice, Cellulite (buttocks), Stretch marks (buttocks, hips, thighs), Athletic injuries, Spinal cord issues, and High blood pressure.

"Always on the go, natives of this sign burn the candle at both ends and suffer for it in their later years. Like their mascot the horse, they require sufficient leg exercise and fresh air. This is a healthy sign if the blood pressure is regulated and bodily structure (particularly of the spine, hips and legs) is maintained." - Judith Hill

The Sagittarius female is known by her pronounced hips and legs (think singer Tina Turner for example). Pronounced legs and hips are physical trademark features of this sign, especially for females of this sign.

Because Sagittarians likes to play sports and are athletic, they are subject to and prone to athletic injuries.

Dietary Considerations

The 12 cell salts necessary for optimal health and wellbeing correlate and correspond to the 12 Zodiac signs and thus Sagittarius too like all other eleven signs has been assigned a specific and particular cell salt which is: Silica (Quartz)

These chosen foods and recipes will give Sagittarians a boost, but they are also great for Holiday entertaining or a family dinner as the days grow progressively shorter and the evenings are cooler.

Brussels Sprouts
These tiny globes, which resemble miniature cabbages, are loaded with antioxidants, including Vitamins C and K, minerals and a series of compounds that detoxify the body and protect the body against cancer -- especially cancers that can attack the liver. This is one vegetable Sagittarius and others desiring liver protection should include in their diets. Brussels sprouts can be an acquired taste, but one that is well worth developing. Experiment with different recipes to find one you love and your liver will love you for it!

Apples
Apples aid in digestion and the elimination of toxins in the body, thus assisting to fight joint ailments. The peelings are high in anti-oxidants and those of certain apples are credited with natural sunscreen properties, helping the body ward off UV rays. Both these facts make the apple a perfect food for the Sagittarius athlete... or anyone else who is out there on the track everyday. Their joints will be protected when they're on that daily run and they won't have to worry about a sun burnt nose.

Olives
Olives are another treat that is excellent for the athletic Archer. Ripe, or black, olives are considered to imbue a high amount of energy to anyone who eats them. This is due to the olive's fatty nature. Sagittarians can use the extra boost of energy during their strenuous workouts, as can all the other athletes of the zodiac. The anti-inflammatory compounds of olives will also help those knees and ankles.

Cucumbers
Cucumbers are a good source of silica, the Sagittarius cell salt. It is essential for the health of connective tissue, muscles, bones, tendons, cartilage and ligaments, all parts used extensively by Sagittarians in their physically active lives. With their fiery nature, it is no wonder that the phrase, “cool as a cucumber”, applies to one of the Sagittarius' most beneficial vegetables. Laden with potassium, the cool cucumber brings down the Sagittarius temperature a notch -- and aids with their propensity towards dehydration. While other signs may not need to cool down, anyone's frame structure can certainly benefit from the cucumber.

Beets
Beets have blood-cleansing properties making them essential to the safeguarding of the liver, the organ ruled by Sagittarius. They are high in calcium, iron, potassium, and minerals that build liver cells. All other signs can indulge in beets when they are feeling sluggish and in need of a cleanse. Beets also have a naturally sweet taste that satisfy the Sagittarius sweet tooth and are actually good for them at the same time.

Chicken
Chicken is the primary source of protein for Sagittarius. Protein inhibits bone loss in the aging Archer, allowing them to maintain the physical fitness established in their youth well into advanced years. Chicken contains B vitamins, which give Sagittarians a needed boost of energy for them to be the octogenarian jetsetters of the zodiac. Not to be left behind, all other non-vegetarians should have chicken in their diets too.

Cinnamon
Cinnamon has been used as a spice and medicine throughout the centuries. It is anti-microbial, stopping bacterial growth. Cinnamon is also anti-inflammatory. These properties make it an outstanding spice for Sagittarius. It has also a beneficial treatment for Type II diabetes, lowering blood sugar. This is not to say that Sagittarians will develop diabetes, but they have been known to overindulge and pack on some pounds, which can lead to high blood sugar. So a big dose of cinnamon would work well for them. With the high incidence of obesity and Type II diabetes in the world today, all signs can benefit from the properties of this miracle spice.

Tuna
Tuna is high in Omega-3 fatty acids that have anti-inflammatory properties and selenium, which acts as a powerful antioxidant with detox benefits. Both elements are highly beneficial for the Sagittarius liver and for any other sign needing special protection. Another property of Omega-3 protects against sunburn. Now what does that have to do with Sagittarius, you may ask? As the great travelers and adventure-seekers of the zodiac, they are so eager to reach the highest mountain top or trek across the hottest desert; they most likely will forget their sunscreen.

Herbs and Vitamins beneficial to Sagittarius include Agimony, Red Clover, Burdock, Podophyllum (or May Apple), Chicory, and Dandelion, Vitamin C, zinc, the B vitamins, and vitamins E and A.
