A public display of the Nativity Scene will be taken away. In France there is a law which bans any public display of religious figures.
Recently, in the town of La Roche-Yon, France a judge issued the order the disappearance of a public display featuring the Nativity of Jesus. The judge called the display a "religious emblem" and said that it's presence was against French principle of "religious neutrality in public spaces."
The desk size manger was erected in the local city council building was removed, however the a local Senator said the whole idea is grotesque. France adopted laws of secularism with principles of the French Republic in 1905. The law does not permit any public displays of religious nature in schools, public buildings, or state or city's buildings. The Senator said he would appeal, but agrees the buildings were built in 1980's and if the display remained he would be making an illegal act of disobedience.
