TEHRAN (FNA)- Secretary General of Lebanese Resistance Movement Hezbollah Seyed Hassan Nasrallah said Saudi Arabia is responsible for all the chaos in the region.
"Al Saud (the Saudi ruling family) is responsible for any killing and massacre in the region," Nasrallah said in remarks published by Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar, press tv reported.
He also held Saudi Arabia responsible for the bloodshed and killing of people from all tribes and sects in Lebanon, saying Riyadh paid the costs of all wars in the region, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Nasrallah said that the role of the Saudi government, since the establishment of the Riyadh regime, has been to serve the interests of Israel and the United States in the region.
The chief of the Lebanese resistance movement said Saudi Arabian officials oversee the activities of the terrorists from al-Qaeda and ISIL groups in Yemen despite knowing that the terrorists will pose a threat to Saudi Arabia itself in the future.
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 196 days now to restore power to Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 6,453 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.
Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.
Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
The existential danger in the region is Wahhabism, Nasrallah said, adding that there are efforts to expand Wahhabism to the entire world.
Sunni Muslims are not Takfiri and Wahhabi, he stressed, adding that Wahhabis form a tiny fraction of the Muslim population in the world.
He blamed the Saudi regime for its "inhumane" and "Daesh (ISIL)-like" behavior in the recent deadly crush during the Hajj rituals in Mina, near the city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi officials intentionally refused to help the pilgrims and left them in critically hard situations for hours, he said.
The Hezbollah chief also praised the efforts by Iran to publicize the deadly incident.
If it had not been for the Iranian efforts, the Saudis would have covered up the Mina tragedy, quietly buried the dead, and imprisoned anyone they wanted, he stressed.
A stampede during one of the last rituals of the Hajj season killed more than 4,173 people.
The stampede occurred during the ritual known as "stoning the devil" in the tent city of Mina, about two miles from Mecca on September 24.
Sources revealed that the convoy of Saudi Arabia's Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud caused panic among millions of pilgrims and started the stampede.
"The large convoy of Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud, the King's son and deputy crown prince, that was escorted by over 350 security forces, including 200 army men and 150 policemen, sped up the road to go through the pilgrims that were moving towards the site of the 'Stoning the Devil' ritual, causing panic among millions of pilgrims who were on the move from the opposite direction and caused the stampede," several Arab papers, including the Arabic language al-Dyar newspaper, disclosed on Thursday evening.
"That's why the ruler of Mecca has distanced himself from the case, stressing that the issue should be studied and decided by the King," it added.
No other source has yet confirmed the report, but observers said the revelation explains why two of the roads to the 'Stoning the Devil' site has been closed.
Eye witnesses said earlier that the Saudi police and security forces had closed two of the few roads to the stone column that were to be used by millions of pilgrims to do the 'Stoning the Devil' ritual today.
Saeed Ohadi, the head of Iran's Hajj organization, accused Saudi Arabia of safety errors and mismanagement.
He said for "unknown reasons" the paths had been closed off near the scene of the symbolic stoning of the devil ritual where the accident later took place.
"This caused this tragic incident," he told the Iranian state television.
Eyewitness accounts said that even after incident the Saudi security and military forces closed all paths leading to the scene and the bodies of pilgrims have piled up on each other.
