HOW NEW POLL SHOWS AMERICANS WANT PRESIDENT OBAMA TO NOMINATE A SCOTUS JUSTICE (1939 hits)

A new poll found a majority of Americans want President Obama to nominate a Supreme Court justice to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

A CNN/ORC poll released Thursday found 58 percent of Americans think Obama should nominate someone, while 41 percent said the seat should remain vacant.

When the poll asked what the Republican leadership in the Senate should do in response to a nomination, respondents were much more in favor of the Senate holding hearings than not -- 66 percent reported that the to 32 percent.

President Obama has said he will nominate someone to the Supreme Court soon, but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the seat should remain unfilled "until we have a new president."

While Obama and Vice President Biden met with Senate leaders about the vacancy on Tuesday, the meeting ended without a breakthrough.

It's really despicable what they are doing but what needs to happen is that every American citizen get on the phone with his/her Senator especially those up for re-election to do the jobs that we sent them to D.C. to do... represent our views with action(s).

I called and emailed Mitch McConnell a week and a half ago about the politics surrounding the Flint Water Crisis. Here people are without good water in their homes but there is over 600 million dollars that are not being released to fix the pipes and the water ....due to politics.

Just this weekend, Revolt aired Support Flint where many entertainers/musicians came out rather than attending the Oscars, to support the people. It was really inspiring for me because now more than ever, the saying ask not what your country can do but rather what you can do for your Country rings loudly and clearly. We must do what we can for one another and this country.

Let's rethink the way things are done. Reconsider not re-electing these people that are presently in Washington.

Sister Fa, I could not have said this no better, if I put my speech writers on it. Amen to "Let's rethink the way things are done. Reconsider not re-electing these people that are presently in Washington."
