From Florida Statutes leg.state.fl.us: (12)(a) A license issued under this section does not authorize any person to openly carry a handgun or carry a concealed weapon or firearm into: 1. Any place of nuisance as defined in s. 823.05; 2. Any police, sheriff, or highway patrol station; 3. Any detention facility, prison, or jail; 4. Any courthouse; 5. Any courtroom, except that nothing in this section would preclude a judge from carrying a concealed weapon or determining who will carry a concealed weapon in his or her courtroom; 6. Any polling place; 7. Any meeting of the governing body of a county, public school district, municipality, or special district; 8. Any meeting of the Legislature or a committee thereof; 9. Any school, college, or professional athletic event not related to firearms; 10. Any elementary or secondary school facility or administration building; 11. Any career center; 12. Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose; 13. Any college or university facility unless the licensee is a registered student, employee, or faculty member of such college or university and the weapon is a stun gun or nonlethal electric weapon or device designed solely for defensive purposes and the weapon does not fire a dart or projectile; 14. The inside of the passenger terminal and sterile area of any airport, provided that no person shall be prohibited from carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, which firearm is encased for shipment for purposes of checking such firearm as baggage to be lawfully transported on any aircraft; or 15. Any place where the carrying of firearms is prohibited by federal law. (b) A person licensed under this section shall not be prohibited from carrying or storing a firearm in a vehicle for lawful purposes. When do we look at our GUN control laws? When do we act on the Laws we already have in place?
At this point, it is still very easy for some angry young man to put his hands on a high power gun and walk into a School, church, Show or a night club without any background checks in many states in this country and buy a high powered weapon and later go out and shoot up 25, 50 or a 100 people, and the NRA is strangely silent on these events.

I knew the minute I saw the shooter's photo and read his name, they would tie it to him being Muslim and (possibly) having ties with Isis. Anytime something like this happens, especially during Ramadan where you are supposed to refrain from violent behavior, a lot of people's true feelings about Muslims start to show. I'm no fan of Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton, but this is the same reason why Donald Trump feels emboldened to keep Muslims out of the country and it's the exact same reason why Donald Trump could possibly be your next president. These radicals don't understand that their very actions make other Muslims look bad and place an unnecessary burden on them. If Donald Trump becomes president, these types of incidents are going to become a common occurrence. I believe more Muslims will be self radicalized, and attack because they feel they have nothing to lose. Isis wants a war to occur between the Middle East and the U.S., and with Donald Trump in office, they are likely to get it.

There are many misconceptions to the AR-15. Two of the most notable are: AR stands for “Assault-Rifle” and they are the same as fully-automatic military firearms. We’re going to debunk these misconceptions, and we’re going to show you why AR-15s are America’s Most Popular Rifles.
A brief history…
The AR in AR-15 actually stands for ArmaLite Rifle, the company which designed and developed the first AR. In 1959, ArmaLite sold the rights to Colt, which continued to carry on the “AR” name. Colt modified the rifle, most notably by relocating the charging handle from under the carrying handle to the rear of the receiver. This redesigned rifle was marketed and adopted by the United States military as the fully automatic M16 rifle. Finding success in all of the ways the platform could be used, Colt developed a semi-automatic civilian version, better known as the AR-15. While the AR-15 and M16 are nearly identical in external appearance, they are internally different. The hammer and trigger mechanisms are designed differently, and the bolt carrier and internal lower receiver of the semi-automatic versions are milled differently, so that the firing mechanisms are not interchangeable. The AR-15 can only switch between safe and fire functions.
There is a vast difference between fully automatic and semi-automatic firearms. In order to fire a semi-automatic firearm, you must pull and release the trigger after each shot. You cannot hold the trigger for rapid fire. Semi-automatic firearms are functionally no different on any platform, whether it be a pistol, rifle or shotgun. Manufacturing of automatic firearms for the general public has been tightly regulated for 80 years and fully-automatic firearms have not been manufactured for the general public at all since the Hughes Amendment to the Firearms Owners Protection Act became law in 1986.
Today, the AR-15 has soared in popularity amongst gun owners, due to a wide-range of factors. It is customizable, adaptable, reliable and accurate that can be used in sport shooting, hunting and self-defense situations. Civilians can also modify and personalize their AR-15 from carbine-length, stocks, optics, barrels, etc. The AR-15s ability to be modified to your own personal taste is one of the things that makes it so unique.

Gun owners have long been the hypochondriacs of American politics. Over the past twenty years, the gun-rights movement has won just about every battle it has fought; states have passed at least a hundred laws loosening gun restrictions since President Obama took office. Yet the National Rifle Association has continued to insist that government confiscation of privately owned firearms is nigh. After the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in District of Columbia v. Heller, in 2008, that comprehensive gun bans were “off the table,” the NRA insisted that because gun owners were becoming complacent, “our firearms freedoms may be in greater danger.” The NRA’s alarmism helped maintain an active membership, but the strategy was risky: sooner or later, gun guys might have realized that they’d been had. Then came the shootings at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, and at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, followed swiftly by the nightmare the NRA had been promising for decades: a dedicated push at every level of government for new gun laws. The gun-rights movement was now that most insufferable of species: a hypochondriac taken suddenly, seriously ill.
So far, only laws at the state and local levels have been passed. New York, Connecticut, and Maryland instituted expanded assault-weapons bans, placed limits on magazine capacity, and imposed new licensing and registration procedures on gun buyers. (In April, the Senate debated more limited measures, including a broader system of background checks, but none of them passed.) The real goal for gun-control advocates, though, is a new federal assault-weapons and high-capacity-magazine ban to replace the one that expired in 2004.
But a federal ban won’t work. Modern firearms like the AR-15 rifle — the type of gun used at Aurora and Sandy Hook — aren’t really stand-alone weapons at all. They are a collection of integrated components, which makes controlling their proliferation almost impossible. Even if federal gun-control advocates got everything they wanted (already an unlikely scenario), they couldn’t prevent America’s most popular rifle from being made, sold, and used. Understanding why this is true requires an examination of how the firearm is made.

And lastly, please, please I beg my colleagues in the U.S. government: We have to stop talking about this being a 'hate crime.'
It is not a hate crime, it is part of an ideological military assault on the United States of America. We have arrested 101 people linked to ISIS on U.S. soil since the caliphate was declared. This attack was instigated by the policies of this administration. President Obama and Sec. Clinton that has allowed political correctness into threat assessment.
Today, I beg the White House: Stop with the political correctness, we need to destroy the enemy before more innocent people -- gay, straight, black, white, brown, yellow, are murdered on U.S. soil...
Right now we have more than 900 leads being investigated by the FBI, in every single state of the union. What we need to know right now is who they are connected to, how are they accessing ideological material, who those ideologues were. This person killed 50 people -- that is more than one magazine worth of rounds, that means he had some type of training, who gave him that training?
But more importantly than his connections to ISIS or jihadis, but who are the ideologues, the people he was in touch with who spun him up to do this attack now, during the season of Ramadan. I know the FBI are doing this right now, we have to give them as much leeway as possible and stop the political correctness.

is ironic that the modern-day argument for citizens to arm themselves against unwarranted government oppression — dominated, as it is, by angry white men — has its roots in the foundation of the 1960s Black Panther movement. Huey Newton and Bobby Seale became inspired by Malcolm X’s admonishment that because government was “either unable or unwilling to protect the lives and property” of African Americans, they ought to defend themselves “by any means necessary.”
UCLA law professor Adam Winkler explores this history in his 2011 book, Gunfight: The Battle Over the Right to Bear Arms in America. “Like many young African Americans, Newton and Seale were frustrated with the failed promise of the civil-rights movement,” Winkler writes. In their opinion, “the only tangible outcome of the civil-rights movement had been more violence and oppression, much of it committed by the very entity meant to protect the public: the police.” Winkler goes on to say, “Malcolm X and the Panthers described their right to use guns in self-defense in constitutional terms.” Guns became central to the Panthers’ identity, as they taught their early recruits that “the gun is the only thing that will free us — gain us our liberation.”
The Panthers responded to racial violence by patrolling black neighborhoods brandishing guns — in an effort to police the police. The fear of black people with firearms sent shockwaves across white communities, and conservative lawmakers immediately responded with gun-control legislation.

On this night, Branstner’s audience is largely white, male and middle-aged or older. As with a similar presentation by another speaker in St. Cloud a few weeks earlier, Muslims are absent. Branstner said he’s comfortable with them attending, but at talks by other speakers, they’ve been discouraged from showing.
Taking a small stage in the restaurant’s banquet room, Branstner uses slides to walk his audience through a two-hour talk delivered without notes.
He says the transition to an Islamic state is already underway, funded by American corporations hungry for cheap labor and condoned by the Obama administration, which, he adds, is staffed by the Muslim Brotherhood.
CIA Director John Brennan, he maintains, is a devout Muslim. Hillary Clinton is an “evil, evil lady” who will take away First Amendment rights if elected president, and a “third wave” of immigrants will soon inundate the United States as those already here bring in relatives, he says.
“None of you are prepared for this,” Branstner tells them.
Muslims have derided his talks as inflammatory. The St. Cloud Times fact-checked one speech and found it riddled with errors.
But in a community settled largely by German Catholics, Branstner draws a steady stream of residents struggling to understand their new Somali neighbors. His speeches sometimes pull in 200 to 300 people, many of whom donate money to help him defray expenses.
Last year, his fans nominated him for a Difference Maker award bestowed by the Times’ editorial board. He was one of 14 people to win it.
“Ron does have a big following in this community,” Ringsmuth said. “We can’t just dismiss people like Ron.”

After the warm-up speeches, a hush of expectation fell. The Forum in Bath is an Art Deco movie theater now used mostly for concerts and evangelical services, and on the last Tuesday of April, it had the air of a revivalist meeting. In the foyer, they were selling books, button badges and even tea towels, while inside a lively, if middle-aged, audience nearly filled the former cinema.
They had come to hear Nigel Farage, the loquacious, dynamic, bumptious, bibulous, irrepressible leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party, who was touring the country ahead of the elections to the European Parliament later this month. He has himself been a member of that body for 15 years and will doubtless be re-elected, although he belongs to it only to attack it, and his party exists to destroy it, or at least British participation in it and in the European Union.
That still seems quite a remote prospect, but these elections, separate from national elections, could have a drastic impact on British politics. As yet, UKIP doesn’t have a single member of Parliament, or M.P., in the House of Commons at Westminster. But if the polls are right, UKIP will come out on top in the European elections, ahead of the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats, who at present govern the country in uneasy coalition, as well as the opposition Labour Party. Even if UKIP doesn’t believe in the E.U., winning in the European elections will greatly enhance their position back home.
Maybe because he thought he was about to upset the political apple cart, Farage had a swagger in his step as he took the stage at the Forum to thunderous applause. He spoke easily, at some length, with no notes or prompter, relentlessly hammering away at his theme: The country threw away its independence and is now governed by the Eurocrats of Brussels, who have let in a flood of immigrants from Bulgaria and Romania. All will be well if the United Kingdom leaves the European Union.
Outside, there was a knot of demonstrators as well as a BBC television truck: Farage is news. Two protesters held a banner that said (incorrectly as it happens) “Nigel Farage is a banker,” and one woman had a small handwritten placard reading, “They called Hitler charismatic too.” If the comparison is hyperbolic, she’s hardly alone. For all his apparent geniality, Farage is seen by plenty of people as a pernicious figure and his party as a danger to the political health of the nation.
