Last night Oprah Winfrey and Ava Duvernay touched the souls of black families everywhere giving us the highly anticpated screen adaptation of the book "QUEEN SUGAR" which aired on OWN (OPRAH WINFREY NEWTWORK) the duo who partnered and gave us the Oscar nominated "Selma" have managed once again to deliver a narrative so powerful that even the hardest film critic cannot deny the syrupy sweet power of "QUEEN SUGAR" Set in present day New Orleans Ava Duvernay is at her absolute directher best as she intricately weaves the complicated, beautiful, and painful lives of the BORDELON family. The pace of "QUEEN SUGAR" is elegant, unhurried, and gives viewers the opportunity to absorb every single character at full strength.
