I will be as brief as possible...lol

Sooooooo I want to talk about why Chef Tavia spanking her fellow youngins last night on the Food Network's "CHOPPED JUNIOR" the spin off of "CHOPPED" which has enhanced the careers of some the most celebrated chefs our time is a big WIN for everyone from me and Tavia's hometown of Chester, Pennsylvania, a small town of about 30,000 people located just a 18 miles outside of Philadelphia.

Chester, Pennsyvania USA a place which at one time in history was poised to be a bustling city of middle to upper class Americans whose ancestors represented every corner of the globe. But somewhere along line the hopes for the city of Chester and its residents were stolen, hijacked if you will by generations of questionable government leaders.

Tavia, who is just a mere 12 years old represents what Chester residents and its natives have always known and that is WE CAN ACCOMPLISH WHAT WE WILL !! In a town that is affected by every social ill the United States government has created to obstruct the progession of African Americans, the people of my hometown remain dedicated to cultivating their sons and daughters with resilience, pride, creativity, and a committment to excellence.

Tavia Issac a young girl with Crohn's Disease like all people had no control over where she would be born or the circumstances she would be born into. However I get the idea that young Tavia inherently knows that being from Chester is not a sentence but a charge to move the narrative about the men and women who hail from our hometown from of place of systemic under achievement to in your face unapologetic over achievement. In her 12 year old human experience Chef Tavia solid in her grace and elegance in front of millions of people once again showed the world what the people of Chester have always known and that is CHESTER CAN TOO.
