White House Chief of Staff General John Kelly explains what happens when service members are killed in action, the notification process, and the outreach from the White House to the families of the fallen. He recounts his own experience when General Joseph Dunford called to tell him about his son, who was killed in Afghanistan. Then he goes on to characterize the president's calls to the families of the soldiers who died in an ambush in Niger. He also says he is stunned and heart-broken by the criticism of the president by Rep. Frederica Wilson, who listened in on a call to one of the families and then went on TV to complain about it.
