Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivered an address on Middle East policy at the American University in Cairo. In his remarks, titled, “A Force for Good: America’s Reinvigorated Role in the Middle East", he criticized the previous administration’s policy, saying the "age of self-inflicted American shame is over,” and later added that under the Trump administration, the U.S. had re-asserted its role and had learned from their mistakes. On Iran, Secretary Pompeo said President Trump has “reversed the willful blindness to the danger of the regime.”
