H.R. 5 - The Equality Act (435 hits)

Here is how the Democrats waste everyone's time, when they are not busy with their non-impeachment nonsense. Here is another loser for Mitch McConnell's grim graveyard. R.I.P.

Firstly, what is the definition of the word equality? Equality definition, the state or quality of being equal; the same.
I, Christ Harry 100% believes in equality.

Allowing a transgender male in a biological female bathroom is not equality because they are not biologically the same.
A biological female does not undergo treatment to be a female as a transgender does to qualify for female rights and therefore they are not the same.

My simple solution is that transgender males need a bathroom marked transgender males the same as bathrooms labeled male and female.

It is equality when transgender males have they own bathroom, and athletically compete against themselves instead of competing against biological females!

A transgender male taken a shower with a biological female is not equality because they are not the same and the definition of equality is being the same.

What say you!

Let talk about the Equality Act (HR 5), legislation banning discrimination on the basis of s*x, gender identity, and s*xual orientation for a moment. Let take a look a the first five provision of this bill.

(1) Discrimination can occur on the basis of the s*x, s*xual orientation, gender identity, or pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition of an individual, as well as because of s*x-based stereotypes. Each of these factors alone can serve as the basis for discrimination, and each is a form of s*x discrimination.

(2) A single instance of discrimination may have more than one basis. For example, discrimination against a married same-s*x couple could be based on the s*x stereotype that marriage should only be between heteros*xual couples, the s*xual orientation of the two individuals in the couple, or both. Discrimination against a pregnant lesbian could be based on her s*x, her s*xual orientation, her pregnancy, or on the basis of multiple factors.

(3) Lesbian, gay, bis*xual, transgender, and queer (referred to as “LGBTQ”) people commonly experience discrimination in securing access to public accommodations—including restaurants, senior centers, stores, places of or establishments that provide entertainment, health care facilities, shelters, government offices, youth service providers including adoption and foster care providers, and transportation. Forms of discrimination include the exclusion and denial of entry, unequal or unfair treatment, harassment, and violence. This discrimination prevents the full participation of LGBTQ people in society and disrupts the free flow of commerce.

(4) Women also have faced discrimination in many establishments such as stores and restaurants, and places or establishments that provide other goods or services, such as entertainment or transportation, including s*xual harassment, differential pricing for substantially similar products and services, and denial of services because they are pregnant or breastfeeding.

(5) Many employers already and continue to take proactive steps, beyond those required by some States and localities, to ensure they are fostering positive and respectful cultures for all employees. Many places of public accommodation also recognize the economic imperative to offer goods and services to as many consumers as possible.

What say you!

Homos*xual, gay or lesbian relationship has been known to exist since the very advent of human civilization. At times it has been treated as platonic love while this relationship has been looked down upon from a viewpoint of many religions. Never in the history of mankind, has this relationship been as openly and as widely recognized as it has been in the current times.

Now do you want to talk about he Equality Act (HR 5), legislation banning discrimination on the basis of s*x, gender identity, and s*xual orientation for a moment. Let take a look a the first five provision of this bill.

Ron, did you watch the debate on this bill, presented above. Your first five provisions are incomprehensible. Let's talk about this debate on the floor of the House.

You can read this and the thins that I post is in English so, everyone here on Black in America can read it.

robert. Let us take a look at The History of homos*xuality in The Middle East, according to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

There are a handful of accounts by Arab travelers to Europe during the mid-1800s. Two of these travelers, Rifa'ah al-Tahtawi and Muhammad sl-Saffar, show their surprise that the French sometimes deliberately mis-translated love poetry about a young boy, instead referring to a young female, to maintain their social norms and morals.[37]

Among many Middle Eastern Muslim cultures egalitarian or age-structured homos*xual practices were, and remain, widespread and thinly veiled. The prevailing pattern of same-s*x relationships in the temperate and sub-tropical zone stretching from Northern India to the Western Sahara is one in which the relationships were—and are—either gender-structured or age-structured or both. In recent years, egalitarian relationships modeled on the western pattern have become more frequent, though they remain rare. Same-s*x intercourse officially carries the death penalty in several Muslim nations: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Mauritania, northern Nigeria, Sudan, and Yemen.[38]

Today, governments in the Middle East often ignore, deny the existence of, or criminalize homos*xuality. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, during his 2007 speech at Columbia University, asserted that there were no gay people in Iran. Gay people may live in Iran, however they are forced to keep their s*xuality veiled from the hostile society, funded and encouraged by government legislation and traditional norms.[39]

Now let us take a look at The History of homos*xuality in AFRICA.

Homos*xuality in ancient Egypt is a passionately disputed subject within Egyptology: historians and egyptologists alike debate what kind of view the Ancient Egyptians society fostered about homos*xuality. Only a handful of direct hints have survived to this day and many possible indications are only vague and offer plenty of room for speculation.

The best known case of possible homos*xuality in Ancient Egypt is that of the two high officials Nyankh-Khnum and Khnum-hotep. Both men lived and served under pharaoh Niuserre during the 5th Dynasty (c. 2494–2345 BC).[51] Nyankh-Khnum and Khnum-hotep each had families of their own with children and wives, but when they died their families apparently decided to bury them together in one and the same mastaba tomb. In this mastaba, several paintings depict both men embracing each other and touching their faces nose-on-nose. These depictions leave plenty of room for speculation, because in Ancient Egypt the nose-on-nose touching normally represented a kiss.[51]

Egyptologists and historians disagree about how to interpret the paintings of Nyankh-khnum and Khnum-hotep. Some scholars believe that the paintings reflect an example of homos*xuality between two married men and prove that the Ancient Egyptians accepted same-s*x relationships.[52] Other scholars disagree and interpret the scenes as an evidence that Nyankh-khnum and Khnum-hotep were twins, even possibly conjoined twins. No matter what interpretation is correct, the paintings show at the very least that Nyankh-khnum and Khnum-hotep must have been very close to each other in life as in death.[51]

It remains unclear, what exact view the Ancient Egyptians fostered about homos*xuality. Any document and literature that actually contains s*xual orientated stories, never name the nature of the s*xual deeds, but instead uses stilted and flowery paraphrases. While the stories about Seth and his s*xual behavior may reveal rather negative thoughts and views, the tomb inscription of Nyankh-khnum and Khnum-hotep may instead suggest that homos*xuality was likewise accepted. Ancient Egyptian documents never clearly say that same-s*x relationships were seen as reprehensible or despicable. And no Ancient Egyptian document mentions that homos*xual acts were set under penalty. Thus, a straight evaluation remains problematic.[51][53]

In the 19th century Mwanga II (1868–1903) the Kabaka of Buganda regularly had s*x with his male page.[54]

In Ethiopia Bieber (1909) “encountered Uranism” among the Semitic Harari people and noted that “sodomy is not foreign to the Harari. Albeit not as commonly, it also occurs among the Galla [Oromo] and Somal[i].” He also noted mutual masturbation by both s*xes and all ages for all three peoples, and specified that among the Harari, Uranism was practiced as often between men as between men and boys. More recently, Gamst (1969) reported homos*xual relations among shepherd boys of the Cu****ic-speaking Qemant (Kemant) of central Ethiopia. Among Amhara peasants, Messing (1957) found (better-accepted) male transvestites, who they view as “god’s mistakes.” Wändarwäräd (“literally male-female”) with visible male s*xual characteristics, but whose structure is popularly believed to be defective. Among the Maale of southern Ethiopia, “a small minority [of men] crossed over to feminine roles. Called ashtime, these (biological) males dressed like women, performed female tasks, cared for their own houses, and apparently had s*xual relations with men,” according to Donald Donham (1990).

Cross-gender homos*xuality not tied to possession cults has been reported in a number of East African societies. Needham (1973) described a religious leadership role called mugawe among the Meru of Kenya which includes wearing women's clothes and hairstyle. Mugawe are frequently homos*xual, and sometimes are married to a man. Bryk (1964) reported active (i.e., insertive) Kikuyu pederasts called onek. and also mentioned “homoerot*c bachelors” among the pastoralist Nandi and Maragoli (Wanga).

Now do you want to talk about he Equality Act (HR 5), legislation banning discrimination on the basis of s*x, gender identity, and s*xual orientation for a moment?

Lets take a look a the first five provision of this bill.

1) Discrimination can occur on the basis of the s*x, s*xual orientation, gender identity, or pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition of an individual, as well as because of s*x-based stereotypes.

YOUR WORDS: Hey Ron, if homos*xuals have been around since the dawn of time, they sure as hell don't need H. R. 5 in A.D. 2019.

MY REPLY: That comment right there brings us to issue number one of :the Equality Act (HR 5), legislation banning discrimination on the basis of s*x, gender identity, and s*xual orientation.

Stereotype

In social psychology, a stereotype is an over-generalized belief about a particular category of people. Stereotypes are generalized because one assumes that the stereotype is true for each individual person in the category. Wikipedia

I too would agree with both of you guys but we both know that their are some ignorance still out hear
about homos exuality, much like the Italians, The Polish, The Jews, and The Black Americans was and in some cases, still are discriminated against to this very day because of ethnic identity and race.

Bill much like this one was signed into law to protect the rights of those individuals in The United States.

Mr. Ron you did not delete my comment because of so-called foul language. You deleted my comment because I proved that you were wrong and you didn’t like it!

You are a type of person who thinks they are better than everyone else that gives you the feeling you are more intelligent than everyone else that somehow it’s your obligation to lead everyone else and having this kind of psychology about yourself you cannot take it when someone proves you wrong!

The dictionary’s definition for this type of psychology is arrogance and Americans is akin to stupidity and you are an extremely stupid person!

You are constantly trying to lead everyone for example, a question like have you seen the video is condescending. What have you learned from the video is condescending. Who the FU*K are you?!
You believe that you are more intelligent than anyone else on this site and that is arrogance and you don’t see it, but others see it about you!
You are a liar and a cheat trying to pass yourself off as a righteous, good will and an intelligent man and you are not!

You don’t believe you can do anything wrong, but it was wrong for you to delete my comment and not man enough to apologize because you think you don’t do anything wrong. You feel that wrongs are done by others because you are superior to others and that is a personality of arrogance.

You deleted my comment because I debunked you and you did not like it. I don’t speak foul language since everything I say is true even when I call you a dumb FU*KING Ass Hole is true and the truth is not foul language because if it wasn’t the truth that I was saying about you and you were intelligent you would be able to come back at me and show that I was wrong, but you couldn’t do that because you know that I was right and that’s why you deleted my comment and not man enough to apologize because you think you is immune to wrong but everybody else can be wrong.

All through my life I have met and dealt with ass holes like you!

Lastly, homos*xuality is not a choice! I have seen two male infant in my family that at the age of three years old began to show signs of homos*xuality and grew up to become homos*xuals and both of them have passed away from s*xual disease. So, I know that is not a choice. I came to understand that their brain during development were wired wrong the same way a developing fetus could develop one leg longer than the other or an extra head; it is a miss wiring in the brain of the genes.

Again, I have lost my appetite to communicate with you because of your arrogance and your condescending ways that every three sentence I would be calling you a dumb FU*KING ASS-HOLE or an IDIOT!

Look HARRY, it is OK!!! You feel that discrimination on the basis of s*x, gender identity, and s*xual orientation is somehow different than discrimination on the basis on Skin Color. Discrimination is discrimination and this is the land of The Free.

HARRY, you are to damn old to be acting like that. You don't have to be a loser like that. You can elevate your thinking, to think of positive things like the power of LOVE of yourself. You can do that but it all begins with you, taking the first step.

Fear not HARRY, you still can redeem yourself by talking to this issue of H.R. 5 - The Equality Act, can you do that?

So far you have not came close to this topic and if for some reason you can't talk to this issue, there is the door.

If you decide not to talk to issue and you don't come back, that too is your choice, may God continue to bless you HARRY.

"all gay people are diseases and don't deserve protection from Discrimination by LAW" That's who Ron.

Steve Williams
Just listen to you!!! You are talking real foolish now. You act like gay people have not contribute anything to the history of the United States of America. Now, you are saying that: "all gay people are diseases and don't deserve protection from Discrimination by LAW" which I see that it was easy for you to say.

Did you know that gay people contributions changed the way people now live in the world today.

Alexander the Great was gay. Born Alexander III of Macedon, according to the Ancient History Encyclopedia, Alexander the Great came to think of himself as a demigod and a son of Zeus, the Greeks' highest-ranking Olympian god.

Hatshepsut was gay. It may not be completely accurate to refer to Queen Hatshepsut of Egypt as "transgender;" but it's certainly not wholly inaccurate. In fact, Hatshepsut called herself a king.

Leonardo da Vinci was gay. Acknowledgment of Leonardo's gayness is almost universal. There is also exactly zero doubt that history's ultimate Renaissance man was a genius of art, science, engineering, and what we now might call futurism.

Alan Turing was gay. Who was Alan Turing? To say he was a British mathematician and scientist would be like saying Leonardo was a great painter; it just doesn't go far enough. Biographer Andrew Hodges defines the man with utmost concision at the website he maintains as an education portal about all things Turing. Hodges writes that Alan Turing was the "founder of computer science, mathematician, philosopher, codebreaker, strange visionary and a gay man before his time."

Michelangelo was gay. The University of Illinois at Springfield's Lesbian, Gay, Bis*xual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and Allied Resource Office offers a frustrating, however technically accurate, assessment of the s*xual ambiguity of the legendary sculptor and painter of the ceiling at the Sistine Chapel in Rome.

Barbara Gittings was gay. At least a decade before Stonewall, out lesbian Barbara Gittings was fighting public battles aimed at securing rights for queer people. In 1958, Gittings founded the New York Chapter of the Daughters of Bilitis, the parent organization of which was founded three years earlier in San Francisco.

Christine Jorgensen was gay. As the website whose URL bears her name reminds us, the New York Daily News headline that announced her as the world's first out transgender woman was anything but subtle. It read, in all caps, "EX-GI BECOMES BLONDE BEAUTY: OPERATIONS TRANSFORM BRONX YOUTH."

Sally Ride was gay. If you were a kid in the 1980s, you knew the name Sally Ride. A Presidential Medal of Freedom honoree, Ride was America's first female astronaut and a space shuttle robotic arm operator. In 1983 she flew with fellow crew members aboard the shuttle Challenger, the same orbiter that tragically exploded after lift-off during a mission in 1986 that Ride was not a part of. Although she was married to a man until the mid-1980s, by the time of her death in 2012, Ride had been in a 27-year relationship with a female partner, Tam O'Shaughnessy.

Harvey Milk was gay, Harvey Milk's name is synonymous with fighting for change from within the American political system. Being one of the nation's first openly gay elected officials, Milk was the standard-bearer of what during his time was called the gay liberation movement. Before he was assassinated in 1978, along with San Francisco Mayor George Mascone, Milk helped stave off a conservative backlash against LGBT equality in the form of the so-called Briggs Initiative, which would have barred gay people from teaching in California's public schools.

Tammy Baldwin is gay. Democrat Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin is the first lesbian and first out member of the LGBT community to be elected to the U.S. Senate. As her state's junior senator, Baldwin has fast become one the most vocal advocates for sensible gun control in the upper chamber of Congress. Recently, Sen. Baldwin has called for a national LGBT Equality Day.

Lily and Lana Wachowski are both gay. Sisters Lily and Lana Wachowski have both come as transgender, just a few years apart. They are among Hollywood's genuine-article elite moviemakers, with directing, writing and production credits under their belts that read like a roll call of Academy Award nominees and winners. Imaginative Wachowski films and screenplays ranging from the Matrix franchise to Cloud Atlas have not only changed the way we think about film as an art form, but also the way the world thinks about life and living.

Ellen DeGeneres is gay. Actor, producer, talk-show host, and comedian Ellen DeGeneres is known for her wholesome, winsome, and easy-breezy personality. But beneath her sweetness lies a lioness fully capable of protecting and fighting for what she believes in. For weeks in 1997, America wondered and ABC's publicity department fueled speculation about whether or not DeGeneres's character would follow the lead of the real-life lesbian who played her by coming out.

Barney Frank is gay. Barney Frank has been a longtime fighter for LGBT rights. As a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, the first bill he introduced, in 1973, was to ban antigay discrimination in housing, employment, and public accommodations. It didn't pass then, but his state eventually adopted such protections. After being elected to the U.S. House in 1980, he championed the yet-to-be-realized dream of an Employment Non-Discrimination Act (although he did disappoint some supporters by backing a trans-exclusionary ENDA at one point).

James Baldwin, was gay. Of gay writer James Baldwin, author Michael Ondaatje famously said, "If Van Gogh was our 19th-century artist-saint, James Baldwin is our 20th-century one.” Similar praise for the writer of seminal books such a Notes of a Native Son, Giovanni's Room, Go Tell It on the Mountain, and Another Country abounds.

Bayard Rustin, was gay. Despite efforts even within the civil rights movement itself to overshadow him because he refused to be closeted even in the LGBT-oppressive 1940s and '50s, history was never able to blot out the fact that Bayard Rustin was the chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington, at which Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his groundbreaking "I Have a Dream" speech.

Troy Perry, is gay. For LGBT people of faith, Rev. Troy Perry is the father of modern queer religiosity and organized spirituality. Founder of the Metropolitan Community Church, which now has a global presence that grew from the first congregation in Los Angeles, Perry is also a voice for bridging generations within our community.

Harry Hay was gay. Famous for his quote about the need for unity among minority communities, transplanted Brit Harry Hay founded the Mattachine Society in 1950, one of the modern world's first organizations for gay men. In 1953 the Mattachine Society ousted Hay for his communist views. Ironically, the American Communist Party kicked him out because it believed his homos*xuality made him a "security risk."

Laurence Michael Dillon, was gay. Born to English nobility as Laura Maud Dillon, Laurence Michael Dillon courageously resolved to live life as his true self. According to Australia's Gender Centre, Dillon was the world's first transgender man to undergo gender-affirmation surgery. But doing so cost him his family, his claim to peerage (a noble title), and a career in medicine. Nevertheless, seeking truth led Dillon to become a (presumably) spiritually enlightened Buddhist monk and author of two books about spirituality.

Hey Steve, did you get that? Laurence Michael Dillon became a enlightened Buddhist monk and author of two books about spirituality.

Oscar Wilde was gay. Irish playwright, author, lecturer, and all-around wit, Oscar Wilde is as frequently quoted as the likes of Confucius, Winston Churchill, Lord Byron, Gandhi, and Ayn Rand. Despite his personal undoing following his arrest, conviction, and sentence of two years hard labor for the "crime" of homos*xuality (technically, "gross indecency"), the writer of classics such a The Importance of Being Earnest and The Picture of Dorian Gray remains one of the written word's most famous and celebrated artists.

Deborah Sampson was gay. Deborah Sampson's name may not be world-famous, but the life-threatening risk she took by posing as a man in order to fight the British for American independence during the Revolutionary War — arguably the most world-changing war in human history — cannot be overstated. Sampson's life was full of examples of her courage and compulsion to sacrifice, or at least risk, her own safety and well-being so that others might live and flourish. In fact, again posing as a man, she once married a colonial woman who had been captured by a Native American tribe in order to save her from being killed. According to historian Rebecca Beatrice Brooks, Sampson's decades-long battle to win the pension she had earned as a soldier in the Continental Army finally succeeded after much publicity and through the advocacy of none other than Paul Revere.

Now these are just a few of gay people who changed the modern day world that we live in today. For you to say: "all gay people are diseases and don't deserve protection from Discrimination by LAW" is a very unaware statement you made. Now these people made themselves apart of world history, have you achieved such world renowned status, Steve?

This statement of yours "all gay people are diseases and don't deserve protection from Discrimination by LAW" is very biased and these people deserve protection from Discrimination by LAW from thinking like this.

I mentioned Ayn Rand earlier, here's what caught my eye about her Moral views.

In 1971, Rand published The New Left, a collection of essays which attacked feminism and the s*xual liberation movements, including the gay rights movement. Rand called them "hideous" for their demand for what she considered "special privileges" from the government. She addressed homos*xuality in the course of an attack on feminism, writing that "[T]o proclaim spiritual sisterhood with lesbians... is so repulsive a set of premises from so loathsome a sense of life that an accurate commentary would require the kind of language I do not like to see in print."[1]

In response to questions from the audience at the two Ford Hall Forum lectures she gave at Northeastern University, Rand explained her views in more detail. In her 1968 lecture, she said, "I do not approve of such practices or regard them as necessarily moral, but it is improper for the law to interfere with a relationship between consenting adults.

Hey Ron, my Buddhist scripture is silent on the issue of gayness. The Lotus Sutra promotes rational thought and we support individual choice. But gays are already protected and H.R. 5 is superfluous. Plus, it's dead.

Infectious Disease Guiding Principles

Sound public health infectious disease control programs require science-based policies, programs,

and infrastructure be in place to prevent infectious disease morbidity and mortality, rapidly identify

and control outbreaks, support disease elimination, and prevent and respond to re-emerging and

emerging infectious disease threats. Evolving risk factors associated with external drivers such as

globalization, displacement of people, and climate change reinforce the need for robust and sound

public health infectious disease programs.

Robert, if you are going to quote me, quote the hold quote: ""I do not approve of such practices or regard them as necessarily moral, but it is improper for the law to interfere with a relationship between consenting adults, if you are gay or not."

I am talking about the LAW in this case and I don't practice such actions and those things don't involve me or anyone I know. I practice Elohim's law and that is the answer to Deacon of what, Elohim's laws.
