10 a.m. Monday
North Korea’s state media is describing leader Kim Jong Un’s meeting with President Donald Trump at the Demilitarized Zone as “an amazing event” in the border village it notes is a symbol of the Korean Peninsula’s division.
The Korean Central News Agency reports that the two leaders expressed great satisfaction over the results of their talks. Also included in the state media report is a description of Kim exchanging “warm greetings” with South Korea’s president, Moon Jae-in.

North Korea's state media also reported on Sunday's meeting,... claiming that Kim Jong-un's friendly ties with President Trump had led the U.S. President to request the impromptu summit.
The report however... somewhat downplayed the role of President Moon in mediating the dialogue.

North Korean media reported on the historic meeting between the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump at the inter-Korean truce village of Panmunjeom ...and said that the two leaders have agreed to resume "constructive" dialogue.
Highlighting that the meeting took place due to President Trump's request... North Korean state run Korean Central News Agency reported Monday on the (quote)"amazing event"... in which the two leaders shook hands.
The report said the historic meeting took place at the location that has symbolized the division of the two Koreas and where the armistice agreement was signed in 1953.
It said the leaders discussed the easing of tensions and hostilities on the Korean Peninsula, which could lead to a miraculous turning point... through the process of sharing issues of mutual concern that had hindered progress in the past.
The report also mentioned the impromptu nature of the meeting, quoting Kim who said his friendly relationship with President Trump had allowed the sudden meet-up to take place.
It said North Korea's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ri Yong-ho and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo were present at the meeting... signaling that Pompeo's former counterpart in denuclearization talks Kim Yong-chol has been replaced.
Kim Yong-chol was replaced as director of the United Front Department in the reshuffle in April... and according to a South Korean media report he's been relieved from his duties and subjected to forced labor and ideological education... as part of a purge for the deadlock in denuclearization talks in Hanoi.
The North Korean media also said that ahead of the meeting between North Korea and the U.S., Kim Jong-un had warmly greeted President Moon Jae-in... but left out the detail that the three leaders stood side-by-side before heading into the Freedom House on the southern side of Panmunjeom for the one-on-one talks between Kim Jong-un and President Trump.

Let's read on; Kim's bloody revenge on his Vietnam summit negotiating team was revealed by South Korea's Chosun Ilbo newspaper.
A North Korean source said: "Kim Hyok-Chol was investigated and executed at Mirim Airport with four foreign ministry officials in March."
The newspaper claims Kim's purge is designed to divert attention from discontent within the pariah state.
But it didn't end there, with other officials packed off to North Korea's infamous death camps.
Co-negotiator Kim Sung-Hye and translator Shin Hye-Young were among those sent to prison.
Hye-Young is said to have done nothing wrong apart from making a translation error.

Sunday's impromptu summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump revealed a major reshuffle in the North Korean team of negotiators, confirming rumors that previous negotiators were purged after the failed summit in Hanoi in February.
Conspicuous by their absence were Kim Yong-chol, Kim Jong-un's former right-hand man who laid the groundwork for the Hanoi summit, his key aide Kim Song-hye from the United Front Department, as well as chief nuclear negotiator Kim Hyok-chol.
Instead, Kim Jong-un was accompanied by Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho and Vice Minister Choe Son-hui.
That confirms what many suspected, that Kim Yong-chol's United Front Department has been sidelined in favor of the Foreign Ministry.
Kim even had a new interpreter, a man with glasses who is said to be a Foreign Ministry staffer. He has frequently been spotted when high-ranking U.S. officials visited North Korea, such as former U.S. President Jimmy Carter in August 2010.
Shin Hye-yong, who interpreted for Kim in Hanoi, is said to have been purged for a number of mistakes she made.
Instead of Kim's sister Yo-jong, who shadowed her brother in Hanoi, Hyon Song-wol of the Workers Party Central Committee took charge of protocol, although she was on hand in the background.
On the U.S. side, Trump confirmed that the new negotiating team will be no different from the old one, with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in charge and Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun in harness.
"The fact that the U.S. did not respond to North Korea's persistent demand to replace Pompeo shows that the big framework of the U.S. policy will be unchanged," a pundit here said.
The presence of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin at Sunday's meet could hint at more involvement from the Treasury, perhaps overseeing implementation of sanctions.

Four North Korean officials have been shot over the collapse of the U.S.-North Korea summit in Hanoi in February, according to rumors flying around the secretive state.
Asia Press on Wednesday reported rumors that a diplomat from the North Korean Embassy in Hanoi and three other Foreign Ministry officials were executed by firing squad in Pyongyang early this month as senior officials from the Workers Party looked on.
They were accused of taking bribes to leak confidential information to U.S. officials while negotiating the agenda before the summit.
Earlier, the regime reprimanded Kim Hyok-chol, North Korea's top negotiator with the U.S., and Kim Song-hye from the United Front Department, over the failed summit.
Kim Hyok-chol was not on the ballot for elections to the rubber-stamp Supreme People's Assembly last month.
But Asia Press said the rumors have not been verified, and it is possible the regime is deliberately spreading misinformation in a bid to divert the blame from Kim Jong-un himself.

In the latest sign that Donald Trump is a terrible deal-maker, U.S. negotiators admitted on Wednesday they will no longer demand that North Korea share the complete details of its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile arsenals as discussions between the two countries continue.
According to NBC News, “U.S. negotiators are no longer demanding that North Korea agree to disclose a full accounting of its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs as part of talks this week between President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un, according to current and former senior U.S. officials.”
