Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) claimed at a Wednesday hearing about the riot that when supporters of former President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building to stop the election results from being certified, it was not an insurrection and that it's a "lie" to say it was.
"There was an undisciplined mob," he said. "There were some rioters and some who committed acts of vandalism. But let me be clear: there was no insurrection."
Clyde asserted that television footage from Jan. 6 showed people entering the Capitol and taking videos and pictures "in an orderly fashion" and "if you didn't know the TV footage was a video from January the 6th, you would actually think it was a normal tourist visit." This was despite the fact that there were five deaths in the Capitol riot and that the footage that emerged included shocking videos of rioters breaking through windows and of Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and then-Vice President Mike Pence being rushed to safety.
Hey Steve, is this what you call a normal tourist visiting day at The U.S. Capital?

I call 1/6 an insurrection. It wasn't an attempt to overthrow the government though. That's ridiculous. It was a JUSTIFIED outburst of anger. There were also MAGA walking peacefully through the Rotunda. They looked just like tourists.

I have been to The Capital building a few times in my life and I have never heard a group of White people singing Hang Mike Penns and Shoot Palois in the head and now Republican lawmakers are LYING to you, NOT to believe you, they don't want you to believe LYING EYES.
It was clear that those WHITE people were acting on the wishes of TRUMP and he wanted that certification stopped and he still does today but too late, the certification was given by Rep. Mike Pence stating JOE BIDEN as 46 President of The United States of America.

They didn't have the database all the time. The forensic expert was able to reconstruct it. Next time, watch the video. This audit will go forward Ron, it won't be stopped. It will be finished by the end of June and your fake boy Biden will probably still be President and the Arizona Senate will continue to do its LAWFUL duty and secure its next election.

Stupid Brian Williams was quoting one of Trump's telegrams last night, the one about the database deletion, and tried to tell us Trump had "faxed" it out, he guessed.
