Former President Donald Trump sent a prerecorded commemoration video to the family of the late Ashli Babbitt on her birthday, saying, "We must all demand justice," as they mourned the 35-year-old former Air Force veteran who was shot while trespassing in the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. Babbitt was killed by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd while she was attempting to climb through a broken doorway window and into the Speaker's Lobby during the riots at the Capitol earlier this year. Both Babbitt's family and the former president have called on the Justice Department to reopen its investigation after Byrd was exonerated. It is my great honor to address each of you gathered today to cherish the memory of Ashli Babbitt, a truly incredible person," Trump said in the video, which played at a ceremony for Babbitt on Sunday in Freeport, Texas . "On that horrible day of Jan. 6, Ashli arrived at the United States Capitol. She was shot and tragically killed," Trump said. "Today would have been her birthday. Happy birthday, Ashli." In his message, Trump said, "We renew our call for a fair and nonpartisan investigation into the death of Ashli Babbitt. I offer my unwavering support to Ashli's family and call on the Department of Justice to reopen its investigation into her death on January 6." Babbitt was killed by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd while she was attempting to climb through a broken doorway window and into the Speaker's Lobby during the riots at the Capitol earlier this year.
This was truly the key point in this sentence "she was attempting to climb through a broken doorway window and into the Speaker's Lobby during the riots at the Capitol."

She was also in a secured area and was told to stand down and the rest is history.

MY REPLY: That is a good question but from reports, Babbitt was given an order while at gunpoint, and she failed to reply and that action cost her, her life.
The question should be: Why was Babbitt at the siege of The U.S. Capital Building in the first place using force to break in, Steve? It really sounds like she was a part of the insurrectionist, performing her orders from TRUMP.

Let's just see what you say the next time it happens to an unarmed colored man who is told to stand down and he doesn't. I just want to see what you say then. Especially if the cop is unilaterally cleared by her fellow cops. Can you think of such a case Ron? That's what I thought.

Even as a private citizen I was trained to make every attempt not to shoot. Even when you're in your own home. Byrd didn't have to shoot, Babbit was no threat.

You didn't know Steve! Michael Byrd was investigated and he was exonerated from any wrongdoing in Babbitt’s death by an internal use-of-force probe.

It was enough for Trump to call for justice for Ashli Babbitt. Ashli Babbitt is a martyr. MSNBC was broadcasting and we all saw her body bleeding out as she was carried out of the Capitol. The fatal shot quelled the mob and that is why Byrd murdered her. MAGA will not forget.

Only in your mind that Ashli Babbitt is a martyr, Steve. You can't even tell me or the people here on Black In America, what was she fighting for Steve? Why didn't Ashli Babbitt failed to obey orders from The U.S. Capital Police after she broke through a glass window? If that's what you call a martyr, that is out of the normal qualities of a Martyr.
Ashli Babbitt died because she believed THE BIG LIE more than you do.
