Then we agree smash and grab but here's where I disagree with you: A smash and grab is a particular form of burglary that involves smashing a barrier, usually a display window in a shop or a showcase, grabbing valuables, and then making a quick getaway, without concern for setting off alarms or creating noise.
Steve, the keyword in that sentence was BURGLARY, a Shoplifter is not a BURGLAR that is a whole different page altogether and you know it.

Smash and grab is a gang of robbers that overwhelm the shop owner and or anyone security guard. While people often use the terms "burglary" and "robbery" interchangeably, the words actually have meaningful differences. "Burglary" involves a person illegally entering a building in order to commit a crime while inside; robbery is generally when someone takes something of value directly from another person by the use of force or fear.
