For Immediate Release From President Biden!
"To the Southern California families impacted by this disaster: I know you are in a living nightmare. I promise were going to help you get through this and eventually recover and rebuild.
I immediately approved Governor Newsoms request for a Major Disaster Declaration, allowing folks who have been impacted by the Southern California wildfires to get immediate cash assistance to cover things like groceries, baby formula, and medicine.
Contact DisasterAssistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362 now:
https://www.disasterassistance.gov/?fbclid... I'm surging every federal resource possible to Southern California, including hundreds of federal firefighters, 30 firefighting helicopters and planes, 8 DoD C-130s, and 500 military ground-clearing personnel.
And were working closely with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to identify what more we can surge.
I'm announcing that the federal government will cover 100% of the cost of measures to protect lives and property in Southern California for six months.
Ive told the Governor and officials to spare no expense and do whatever they need to contain the fires and protect families.
First responders like the California National Guard Soldiers of the 40th Military Police Company are the best of us.
You left your own families, some of whom might be in harm's way, to join the front lines of the wildfire response. We owe you for your service.
Earlier, I approved Governor Newsoms request for a major disaster declaration and ordered Federal assistance to supplement response efforts in areas affected by the wildfires.
This ensures impacted communities and survivors have immediate access to critical funds and resources to jumpstart their recovery.
Were prepared to do anything and everything, as long as it takes, to contain the Southern California fires and help reconstruct. But we know it'll be a hell of a long way.
The federal government is here to stay as long as you need us:
https://www.facebook.com/POTUS/videos/1713... I've just received a briefing from FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Criswell and my Homeland Security Advisor, Liz Sherwood-Randall, on the latest around our federal response to the wildfires across Los Angeles.
Southern California, we are with you. And we're not letting up."

California: We know many are anxious for updates on the status of their homes.
If you evacuated, please do not return home until local officials say its safe.
