This is very unfortunate. I agree with the point the woman makes that women with sons should be raising them with a mindset that you are raising a man, husband, father. How would you want your dream guy to be? Raise your sons with this in mind. If his father is a bad influence or the wrong influence don't be afraid to stand up and say so. I did and am glad I did. Hopefully there will be a turnaround in these numbers but we may have lost a generation in all of this so then it is a matter of selflessness - doing so in hopes that future generations (your grand kids) will benefit (even if you do not).

Ms. Elissa Jones....i don't know where you live or what type of men you have had to deal with. But if those are the only types of brothers you are dealing with, please either look somewhere else or move. As for black women having it harder because you are more likely to have a higher education thab the black man. I hope you have numbers to support that claim. Bottom line, although a lot of our brothers are kept down due to incarceration, murderand other not so pleasent variables....there are quality brothers out there. Some right even under your nose. I'm quite sure you have quality male friends who you probably have just not been either throwing signals or ignoring the ones he's sending. Not all brothers "beat, cheat on or Lay up" on their women. My best friends are all brothers and latinos that are like me. Single college educated men who are single because they won't settle for ignorant, attitude having sisters who claim they want good men but settle for bums busters and scrubs. Now I admit that we good men need to step up to the plate and approach you ladies like men should, but when Mr. right steps to you and you blow him off like you do the lousy mates you did give a chance, don't be mad when he jumps ship to get on that vanilla love boat. Would I date outside my race? Yes I would. Would I prefer to? No. I love my sisters...I just wish they could show that love back.
