U.S. Navy Seaman, Second Class, Ernest "Buster" Boulware.
My Grandfather entered the U.S. Navy on October 21, 1943 as Apprentice Seaman at Philadelphia PA. October 28, 1943. He was transferred to the Naval Training Station in The Great Lakes, Illinois and was discharged as Ship's Cook (Baker), December 24, 1945. He received his Official Honorable Discharge December 12, 1949 in Bainbridge, Maryland.
I was born to his daughter, Rosa Marie Boulware, December 10, 1952. My magnificent Grandfather was born to Robert "Pundy" Boulware and Rosell "Ma Sweet" Johnson in Winsboro, South Carolina July 8, 1911 and passed on January 1, 1973. His place of residence was Hew Haven, Connecticut and laid to rest in Philadelphia, PA on January 8, 1973. He was 32 years of age when he entered the Navy.
I am very Proud of my Grandfather - Ernest "Buster" Boulware. I am his first born Grandchlld.
They don't tell to many stories of our black Men Serving in the Armed Forces, but WE WERE THERE!
