Very good post CL. The "Nicene Creed" was a formal meeting that basically split the early church. But there were even more splits before this point...some are even detailed in the new testament: Peter vs. James. Research why the book of James was written? Look up why Peter had to leave the middle-east? Look up the history of Paul...and ask yourself...did this man preach the word of Jesus or use modern day subversion tactics to divide and destroy the message? http://www.beliefnet.com/story/143/story_1... Ask yourself why a man who never met Jesus wrote more of the new testament than anyone else? Ask why Paul's views are so different from the brother of Jesus...James? The Nicene Creed / Nicea Council was just one on the many known divisions... http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/11049a.htm

I am very happy to see an obviously free thinking individual here. You would do well to continue to research as much as you can about the origins of today's major religions. Black Americans have proven to be the most gullible group of people on the planet. We do not represent anything of our own in this nation we only follow the rules which the forefathers of the United States laid down for us when we were slaves, particularly when it comes to religion. I would never try to suggests any train of thought or school of theology for you (as far as I'm concerned all religion is crap anyway). But I would certainly encourage you to research everything you can until you take your last breath on this planet and you will be much closer to whatever transition which may lie ahead than being stagnant with some outdated relic of European faith.

Curly M., thank you brother. I was beginning to think I was the only free thinker -- or should I dare say "thinker" -- on this site. Well said my brother. You others, time to listen up!

Also, a very good book to read -- although it's lengthy -- is The DaVinci Code. Don't rent the DVD, read the book!

Craig: Please don't say 'thinker' too loud here. They will only tolerate so much.
