POVERTY IS AMONG US (263 hits)

I'm just like many of you who are working everyday, but barely making ends meet. No matter I am surviving and my bills are getting paid. But I know if you are kinda like me you are feeling the money crunch. Let's face it, it takes a lot to keep up! I hear and see all the ways to become debt free, and making lots of money....however even I am without credit card debt --and I still have "just basic necessities debt" if you will. Debts of paying the cost of utilities. I know and see that poverty is among us.

Years ago poverty was described as someone whose conditions or quality of life as "being poor". Today, it may not be that at all. Living in a "poverty stricken state" is apparently a new sort of poverty. Barely you make it; but you manage to stay afloat.
Then too, our polictians and leaders deny we as Americas People are not facing a recession. Every day business are closing, jobs are being loss, and the employment lines are stacking up. Many people have already lost their homes to foreclosures, and well the debts are outrageous! This reflects I would this think, how poverty among us.

Being black and in poverty I feel somehow we take it with a "grain of salt". We've as the black race have always had the surviving poor. So scraping it "day to day" is just a very much normal life for us. Now, even those who have succeeded to middle-class living are still feeling the pinch of poverty. I feel, even they are under the poverty surge as well.

What solutions? If we are looking for them among polictians many of us may become sadly disappointed. We have to look to Divine power to keep us in our needs everyday. Seeking the kingdom of heaven. But, even The Divine Power of God will send to us in form of men that will be used to supply our needs. My parents taught me this in growing up; God will supply our needs no matter what. However, even today many of this generation of parenting are not teaching our children the Power of the Lord. Every solution, to every problem. So poverty is to remain among us, however we have one greater than poverty who give us suffiency. The Power of The Lord.

Smiles,
MIISRAEL

Poverty is a serious issue that we are facing and it might get even worse since the economy is terrible. Maybe it is time for us that know how to fish, to teach those that don't so that we can build to build our communities from within as opposed to depending on the politicians to make changes to benefit us.

I know just what you mean. I remember years ago when I had one of my better jobs, It seemed like everytime I got a raise the rent woud go up about the same amount. I started thinking that there was some type of conspiracy going on that was determined to keep me from reaching my goals.
