Anyone know what I am talking about? Do you recognize love when you see it? How brightly does it shine? We are all called to love one another, right? JC said to "love your enemies as yourself", but do we really do that? I'm not talking about the people you know saying they love you. I'm talking about the cashier who seems to have decided to get an attitude the moment you showed up at her register! The telemarketer who calls just as you are cooking dinner and have goop all over you, trying to sell you something you didn't go out shopping for! I'm talking about those people who see you walking down the street and quickly jaywalk to the other side and do their best to avoid eye contact! Do you show them love? If so, how? If not, why? "If your enemy thirst, give him drink, if he hunger, feed him, if he is cold, clothe him. In doing so HE himself heaps burning coals on his OWN head!" If we really intend on "changing the world" there are only 2 things to do. First, the only person on the planet you can truly change without manipulation or coersion, is yourself. Life is simply a series of choices. Choosing not to manifest how trully P'd off you are at so and so, choosing to not allow someone else's bad day "steel your joy", choosing to love someone until they want to run away and puke! Second, learn to love so brightly that the one's I see searching for it can find it, and those who aren't will give up and give in, or something to that effect. Fighting fire with fire will only cause a bigger fire! Plant the seed of love and love is what you'll harvest. Plant the seeds of violence, violence will grow. Love is HARD! I'm not talking about tough love, either. Real Love is hard to do! It takes lifting people up ESPECIALLY when they don't deserve it. It takes encouraging the unencourageable, listening to those who don't speak, because their actions are speaking for them loud and clear. Men, you know...the silent treatment your girl shows you. It definitely lets you know, "opps, obviously I've done something wrong, though I don't really know what I did". She's comming from the viewpoint that if you are going to play like you don't have a clue, then I sure as heck ain't going to give you any pointers! PAY ATTENTION!!! That's what you did wrong! You didn't pay close enough attention to catch it. How often do we, as a single person on this planet that feels he/she alone cannot change the world, at least try to? Do you make a point in your daily life to make the people you pass by smile? When you ask "how are you today?" do you really want to know or are you just trying to appear cordial? If we're going to "be real" then let's be real. Don't sk questions you don't intent to hear the answer to. Don't speak unless you really want to be heard, and make sure to speak clearly to be understood. I have come to the realization that I've made a profound statement by becoming a member of a primarily black network, being white. Reguardless of my skin color, I still bleed red blood like every other living, breathing beast on this planet. That makes all of us the same. Bless God we are all unique and different. It clarifies for me that I'm not here just talking to myself, even if no one responds to this blog. Show love to someone today, but not to someone you know personally, a stranger perhaps. Also, show love to someone, anyone who you feel does not deserve it. You never know just how much they may NEED it, or what ripples will wave from such an unexpected act. I would suggest you start with the person at the top of your "s**t list" today. Love on them and see your light shine. Let's face it, even you have days when you aren't performing at your best, and would give anything to have someone lift you back up and encourage you to keep trying to do better. God Bless everyone who reads this, and a double blessing for those who respond, in the world around you or to this blog. Love and XXXOOOs. 317537 (upside down it spells my name)
