"I am getting tired about hearing about Obama!!" a quote from a commentary to one of my blogs. (544 hits)

I have to smile. Yes, we are inundated daily with political rhetoric about this election. The only difference? It involves us. One of our own. Been waiting 400 years. I think I will just grit my teeth and gladly "bear it."

If Black churches are extolling from the pulpit to vote for Obama as opposed to just voting, then the same problems that the Evangelicals are facing, they will also face. If the IRS decides to penalize these churches, who will be affected the most?

Yes we get weary, but we cannot stop now. We are his supporters..imagine how he feels having to manage and unprecedented campaign? what Black mentor does he have?
I understand that we may get weary, but we cannot let it get us down. This is our fight. Not just his fight alone.

I understand it now and I understood it in 1968 when my godmother, who is Dominican, responded to my dismay regarding King's assassination, by saying "he was a trouble maker." Yes, Obama the trouble maker.

I have been tagged, accused of being a troublemaker by both whites, and Blacks, I dare say I am nowhere near the stature of these two men, but if defending injustice anywhere makes me a "troublemaker" well, I humbly accept the label.

Stay strong..it will soon be over.

Just so everyone understands this who is not familiar with my blogs, my work on the Obama campaign, my passion or has not clicked on my pictures with my 92-year-old mom registering voters!! This blog was written in a satirical style.

Definition :
: a literary work holding up human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn
2 : trenchant wit, irony, or sarcasm used to expose and discredit vice or folly

Marta...you are tired of hearing about Obama? Oh my goodness. I never thought I would see such a blog coming from you. I wouldn't go as far as say you are a trouble maker, but I would say that You are very passionate about Obama. So am I but not as passionate as you Marta. It's all good and you are right...it will soon be over.

Thank you folks..you have to understand satire!!LOL..this blog was in response to someone who said they were tired of hearing about Obama in the pulpit..if you read the blog you would see it was tied to the Evangelicals ..who will be telling their followers to vote for McCain starting this Sunday..it is precisely my belief that some Black Americans still see themselves as second class citizens, instead of BEING FIRED UP!!!YES IT WILL soon be over, either he wins or I leave the country..my blogs have a theme..being tongue in cheek is my way to write sometimes when I want to disagree politely!!!I think I have made myself clear!! read my answer to Dante's interview!! ..:-) Thx..Venus..as Obama says "you get it"!

The students of the Dubois-Diggs Sociology Society (DDSS) in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Morgan State University has been participating in an Active Voter's Movement and is asking students across the country to participate in a joint "Get out the Vote" rally during the week of September 29-October 3,2008. Students are asked and encouraged to join together on their campuses in a non-partisan rally to inspire voters to participate and to register those who have not been registered to vote for the November 4th general elections.

The main goal is to inspire the youth to get involved in this historical presidential election, in their communities, on their campuses, and to become more politically aware. Voting is pertinent; therefore, we have to stress the significance of voting and being active. In addition to the rally, the Dubois-Diggs Sociology Society has planned several events in an attempt to make a difference in this year's presidential elections. On Tuesday September 23, 2008, a forum was held, "History in the Making", which informed students about each candidate, their platforms, and the history of the political parties. There will also be debate viewings on October 2, 7, and 15 for the students to view in the University Student Center at Morgan State University and a community canvassing project will take place to register and encourage residents of Baltimore City to vote. A book club discussion will begin on October 30, 2008 where students discuss one of the presidential candidate's books. The last activity to complete the Active Voter's Movement will be the community canvassing project prior to Election Day. We invite you to come out, support, and participate in our rally on Thursday October 2, 2008 from 11 am until 1pm. We are also asking you to organize a rally on your campus

Address and details for MSU rally:

Morgan State University
In front of Soper Plaza (former library)
1700 East Cold Spring Lane
Baltimore, MD 21251

For more information about the Active Voter's Movement at Morgan State University email Professor Pratt-Harris - natasha.prattharris@morgan.edu.

****The November 4th Election is less than 40 days away - please join MSU in a joint rally on your campus - Thursday October 2nd!

Oh sorry, but I am a registered nurse and not a literary major with a minor in satires. Thanks for the info as I didn't get it and I still don't.{ lol at myself} In my line of work...talking in satires isn't required...we need to know in plain clear talk what you mean as someone's life just may depend on it. Oh well... I guess I'd better stick to what I do best...saving people's lifes in emergency situations...{ being sarcastic}...

Evidently, a few more blogs will be posted. The Obama blogs will remain, even after the election is finished. I would say pace yourself, either read them or pass over them. But vote!

Marta, lets try this for a change,as I am Black and also a Buddhist, I talk about Obama and wear and Obama button. I just read in my news paper how Angela Davis is talking about Obama and she is a Communist and iIguess like myself not even a 'Christian' or a Muslim. So all who can not take what you say as what is was meant to be then take it from this point of view(smile)

Or, just move on to Michelle Obama is going to be the next president in the White House(an even bigger smile).
