Assuming that this 2008 Presidential year will be captured by the first non-white male in American modern history, the very fear that racists feel will self-prophesize. That the door will be opened, and they will never be able to stem the tide. Ever. Black Americans are on the cutting edge of every successful endeavor of persons of African heritage who have retained their features through centuries of intermarriage. The success stems in part from American principles of Democracy and the financial laws of capitalism. It is not by accident that the final Armageddon if you will , is going to occur in the west. Many people feel that Barack Obama is anointed. I am one of them. The coming together of his advisory team, headed by two Davids( Axelrod and Plouffe) the circumstances of how he came into this world, where he was reared, what schools he attended and the woman he chose to marry are all of what my 23-year-old said "mom he is part of the plan." He has many African-Americans on his team. Some unfortunately cause an eruption every now and then. Take Franklin Raines, the former CEO of Fannie Mae AS HIS FINANCIAL ADVISOR. But the fact is that the political world is full of folks, who made mistakes, stole money, beat their wives, and break laws. That is the way it is. So we get beyond that, because were talking half a million politicians, old , new and about to be. So like the clay in the Potter's house we shape and mold our policies according to the will of the people, and of course this would be more effective if people spoke up and demanded accountability. Now that we know this, we need to start grooming and thinking about who we would like to see as the first female Black Vice-President. I am not sure about a President, because the prevailing thought would be..whoa..okay..one got in-- and the same supporters who are not African Americans would not allow this to happen back to back. So it would behoove us to start preparing for success, and political empowerment. Have you ever thought about it? Because the old male chauvinism would still rear its head..Who would you choose? off the top of your head? and who would you choose if you had time to research? and why?

What a wonderful idea and analogy. I truly believe that Obama is indeed part of the Master's plan. Old political America and the "heartland" surely have thought about this and possess genuine fear. If they had practiced humanity, they would not fear this possibility and that is because in their souls they fear the ultimate reaping of the seeds they sold and sowed. However, we are bigger than that as a people. We have come a long way to learn and understand the political machine and policymaking across the world. Sometimes, I laugh because to me it seems like we snunk up and stole the cookie jar. Now we know what kinds of cookies they buy, steal, swop, and enjoy. Now, who would I put into the office of Vice President? Hands down, it would be Condoliza Rice! Condoliza is an extremely intelligent woman on foreign policy and world affairs. She is not given all the credit due her and I have to admit, I did not really "like" her at first and felt like she was ...maybe an oreo cookie in that jar. However, I spent a weekend reading about her and I was awe-struck on what she accomplished despite a near-silver spoon in her mouth. She is resilient. She is quite gifted. Above that, she has what it takes to influence world leaders which I think is very important to holding the top two offices given the likelihood that the VP may have to be the President. Condoliza understands domestic issues very well, too. She can gain the support of Congress and she would be capable of making sound decisions during the troubling times such as the war in Iraq. She is more than capable of taking black leadership to a whole new level for black women. Yes, it would be God's plan to raise up the oppressed to give Him all the glory!

I knew she would be first on the list!! I also know her biography. Accomplished. I also happen to agree. Your comments and analysis is very clear, so now you have another task..I would like you to think and research as the days go by and get a back up for the Democrats. I will be doing the same. Let's see what kind of list we come up with..we will be quite surprised!

Well, she might agree with you, because I read that she said she is getting out of politics and going back to teach!! who knows maybe she had an "epiphany" like Colin Powell! (but I believe that secretly she will vote "O") her cousin is one of his foreign affairs advisor!!

ahh..kind of scary isn't it? wait I let me share this that I read about her about 4 years ago. Apparently she was shopping in D.C. at the jewelry counter for earrings...the white salesgirl ..took her from the 14 K gold case to the costume jewelry..her response and it does sound like her "Let's get something straight, you do what you do which is why you are on that side of the counter and I do what I do which is why I am on this side of the counter.. evidently annoyed..not because the salesgirl didn't know who she was..but because the assumption that she was black and unable to afford the more expensive gold jewelry really riled her..how do we deal with the double edged sword of racism? can we understand why the house slave "told" on the field slave? can we understand the pain and the psychology behind it?

I think you're right. Wouldn't it just be too funny if Michelle Obama ever ran...and WON? A lot can happen in the next 15-20 years. When it happens, I'll think about this blog. (giggle) Blessings...

Condoleeza Rice may or may not be great, but I agree that she does have a solid grasp of political issues.

Marta this is why I love this site that lets us talk to each other about our own people(ms rice) as "individuals" and teach each others to try to see all sides of being individuals. All in all, Condi has helped open a door for other feamles of color. I try to look at people and things and positions past the limitations of emotions/like or dislikes. On a personal level if Condi lived in a home next to me, I would not speak to her. But, as a political figure, I would speak to her and give her the level of respect due her position in the U.S government.

So sorry but there are just too many flaws in the Condi Rice as qualified and I would like to give reasons why the best thing that she maybe able to do is try not to be found guilty of abuse of powers in office. Ms Rice took a job that Gen. Powell could no longer be a proud Black and honest man if he did not leave the Bush administration that wanted him to violate his job's title and the American Constitution. In Buddhism we have "cause" and "effect" which is the same as the Christian "sow" and "reap" that I offer as why Ms Rice could never be on any ticket that she would have to get into political office and not by being appointed. 1. Christianity in America is not accepting of homos*xuals. Ms. Rice would be forced to answer truthfully about her s*xuality past any doubt by friends/foe. 2.Ms Rice has ignored the ethnic cleansing in Africa almost the whole time she has been in the Bush administration until Obama and Hollywood refused to not stop talking about the decades of wars and sufferings in the African-American decendant's Mother Land through out the whole of this Republican administration!

for some reason the 'why did Condi become a judge, sent my mind straight to O.J and Michael Jackson. No, not that they have been charged with crimes, but that they were accepted as White and what race want to be identified as these being their race's role model. Oprah/Obama I believe if they were Republicans they would always identify as Black. I believe that this is what happened to General Powell. That he had to choose who he represented in moral values. You know those values we drum into our children that "you are Black" when it comes to getting into court/trouble/getting in prison!!!!How many high priced lawyers were with O.J. this time? Reality keeps me worried about Condi, because there is no way that Bush will not be impeached as Palin will also.It seem that the party has already begun to hang Palin out to dry to protect McCain.

How about Oprah as the first female VP or President(or Marta)? I only bring this up because Oprah has not husband. So far it is the behavior of the husbands of all of the females so far that have ended up being a problem in the end for these women and their party. And, poor Hillary like her not being able to be President or vP because Homeland Security still want those donors of her husbands foundation's names. Which means even her being on the Supreme Court will end this in the qualifing hearing of Congress. Back to Ms Rice. I had mentioned 'abuse of power' in my comment of her. Condi has admitted that she was in a meeting with the CIA and Rumsfeld talking abut TORTURE.Exactly what this means "talking about torture" I do not know. But, just the word "cover up" is enough to distory her political or even teaching career is what I was talking about. Senator Barbara Boxer of California is already out there on the campaign trail talking about "abuse of power".And, I am sure she is not talking about Democrats!
