The truth about Life #2... Struggles with self-esteem...

I found that self-esteem begins with a concept or an image of oneself. It is an attitude people develop towards themselves, so if a person's self-image is distorted, then there self-esteem will be as well. A lot of the time when people grow up seeing themselves as stupid or unattractive etc.; then their self-esteem will be shaped accordingly. Unfortunately adding on to this is when we become adults and get involved in unhealthy relationships. I've found a method that works as the first steps in knocking down the walls of low self-esteem. 1st: One must confront that which has held them from seeing and being the true potential of who they are or to become. 2nd: Buy a journal and write down every sad emotion or thing you don't like about yourself. Then read over it then tear it up!!( It now holds no ties to you anymore) 3rd:Write down all the things you do love about yourself and want to see you achieve in life. It's a proven fact that when one writes it's very cathartic to the soul and opens up the mind and heart to a true understanding of oneself and ones worth. By doing this you confront the mistakes and crimes you've committed against yourself. by not forgiving and loving yourself. You have to learn to forgive yourself for holding you back. You are the only "you" you have and you have to cherish that. Don't wait around for someone else to do so. You have the power to shape anything that can happen in your life. So start with you shaping and building you up. Then the skies the limit... How do you help someone dealing with low self-esteem?

I like this one, because it is exactly what I did and I was able to achieve a great deal in my jurior and senior years of school. I found that journaling helped me and I felt better after writing down my thoughts and feelings.

Do you know this person well that you would like to help T.D? If you do then make some small talk to get them relaxed. Then ask small questions like how do you feel, or what are you interested in doing today.

slowly allow her to take the lead for the rest of the date. What she likes to eat, movie, where to go if just for a ride, but build up he confidence,

Words like, I know you can do it, I knew that you could do that. assurance and praise and lots of thanks and the "stop being so shy I am the only one here.

Loss of selfesteem can come from so many different reasons. Unconditional love and feeling safe is the best cure, bar none!!!
