FOR ANY ONE who missed last night. Besides me, between my grandson and mother..I was not able to watch it live: I have pasted the the live part of last night (only) it's below.

I have been so busy that I hadn't really thought about the future with an Obama Presidency. Reading the blogs on this site, and contrasting with my own experience, I realized that I am very ready to have a man of "color" visibly so in the White House governing America. I also feel quite comfortable with it.

Whatever the thougths are of Blacks in the Diaspora, most of us have had leaders, Presidents and Prime Ministers that are black. Our whole mental experience is based on "competency" as Africans in colonized countries. In Haiti, Cuba (Batista was of African,Chinese and Spaniard ) ancestry the same as myself.

They don't want to let you know that in the Anglicized history book, but it is so. Panama, all the islands of the Caribbean and of course the Motherland as well.

We are accustomed and expect to participate in government issued agendas. I hope that my saying this awakens and new understanding for many. Our work has just begun.

I am rushing off to make it to an Angela Davis discussion at Cooper Union University. I would love to hear what her take is on the future of America.

Magic? Yes. Try 1,000 +100 overfilled to capacity at Grand Hall! Lines around the
corner starting at 5:00 p.m., and Maya Angelou was signing books two blocks away. Magic? Awe. You feel as though you are in the presence of a great person.

Marta, I sure hope that you get to feel the magic that comes when one is in the presence of Angela Davis. I will tell you she is not too happy with Obama, so far.(smile)I can not wait to hear about your seeing this great lady.I would love to be there with you.

I will take back not "happy" with Obama. She will wait to see if he is willing to do more than he has done so far to help us in the hood directly and fully committed as he did as a community leader. The government works from the bottom up. I fully trust that Obama will do as any proud Black man does. He abd Oprah did not get where they are and able to run all they have and not the White man with out this special Black Only training. The White man did not give or help them to get where they are and therefore can never take it away from them.

Angela Davis is self made also. She is, too much for words.
