The truth about Love 3# How do you know you've been loved?
I get asked this question all the time and I find it to be one that really depends on the individual. Love has so many different layers and twist and turns and beginnings and endings that it's hard to pinpoint the exact signs of love. But through my studies and personal experiences; I've found that there are patterns. Love to many is like a drug and a person actual has a physical need to be loved and will stop at nothing and go to great links to obtain that high. Quite often we do things that a very harmful to our well-being to obtain this complete feeling. Most of the time loving undeserving people. I feel love over time has lost it's true meaning. We don't know how to truly express and appreciate the love we feel for another, without some of our own selfish crap getting in the mix.
For me how do I know I've been in love, when a relationship ends and I go through a period of emptiness and confusion. I find myself having a hard time making simple decisions, as if without her I'm no good. Trust me this period doesn't last long!!! But really she has actually taken a part of me with her. I'm speaking of the part of me that I gave up when I fell in love with her; to create this true oneness with her. You have to rebuild yourself up and try to regain the you, you were before them. Getting over love isn't an easy thing if you were truly in love. Now I ask you how do you know when you were in love?

I know exactly what you are talking about. I know that I have been loved and have loved. I also know that it is not until one has found acceptance that it is over, that they get back that part of themselves they have given away like a badge of honor to another. The hurt and pain that is felt after the loss of love, I would not wish on an enemy and despite knowing that ones life will go on afterwards. At the time of going through it, no one can tell you that everything will be ok and it too shall pass.
