This brother Dr. West is deeper than the Matrix trilogy. In fact, I listened to his commentary there also.

It is huge for Obama to win this country's nomination. Here in Houston the statement is pretty big for local votes and nationwide Democratic votes. People are showing that they want change.

I admit that I hadn't followed the lack of Rev. King's name in the acceptance speech and I can't say that I even know why. I do know that they struggle of African Americans hasn't been much of an issue specifically. Specifically, I'm not sure if it should be. However, I feel that there should be the utmost concern of all working class individuals and others below the line. When it comes to Americans living in poverty, it's not about color anymore. It is about survival. I believe when all "minority" people are upheld then Rev. King's ideals, along with the Civil Rights Movement, are being upheld. Not only would President Obama benefit from revisiting the importance of that movement, our people will benefit from it. Pull your pants up, at least, when applying for a small business loan (I'd prefer all times). Stop giving people reason to FEAR you. Respect someone other than yourself and NuNu. These are hard times in which everyone is affected. Even Billionaire T. Boone Pickens has been hit hard. His losses are more than many Americans will see over the span of their bank accounts.

On another note, I pray that President Obama gets the protection that he needs. I don't think that our government should take it lightly at all. As a matter of fact, I believe that they should go out of their way to bulk up security for the 1st family at this time. I can't help but think that someone wants to be a fool of this entire presidential matter. Overstood?

Don't just Barack the Vote, turn it all the way over!

Dr. West cannot help his self.

He, like most African Americans are not thrilled that the first man, 'White America', voted for, other than a so called White Man was a so called Black man named Baraka Hussein Obama---a non Slave American.

President Baraka Hussein Obama is the most powerful man, Militarily, on Earth.

Why would you say that? He seemed pretty ecstatic when I heard him speak about Obama. Most people know that it just wasn't time for a black president. It seems like we don't trust Jesse Jackson. We are more concerned with Sharpton's perm than we are his politics. Who else since Rev. King would we have had to step up to bat? Colin Powell is the only key contender and he took himself out of that race 13 years ago for his own personal reasons.
The name Hussein and Obama came into play a little during this election but they are names, not the make up of the man behind it. If America went by names then often times we might fall short with the names that come out of our communities. How many people outside of the black race have you seen named Jackson and Freeman? Shanequa and Jameel. They can see us coming.
