Our Proudest Moment!!!
Just listen! Can't you hear it? Don't you feel it? It's the birth of true change. Our voices have been heard. A new dawn is before us. Our ancestors fought and died for this day. Finally, finally they are being paid back. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X , Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, Mary McLeod Bethune, Medgar Evers, Marcus Garvey, Frederick Douglass, John Brown, Booker T. Washington, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Jessie Jackson and a host of many others that led the cause that will never be forgotten.... Can't you see them dancing?
I sure can. They are dancing with four generations of my ancestors in this country who came here as slaves. They danced for me when I earned a Ph.D. when they weren't allowed to learn to read. They are dancing now because they promised me that this day would come even when I didn't believe I would live to see it and I am eternally proud of the sacrifices they made so that I could be here dancing today.
