The Devil's Devil's Advocate (response to Irma and Earl)
---------------------
I happened to see a few comments between Earl and Irma. A few of the other comments kinda missed me though. I'd have to do the research regarding the swearing on holy literature. I wasn't aware of any of that going on with Barack or the lack thereof. Many people have their own beliefs in regards to swearing on anything.
I would like to know, Earl, what YOU mean regarding the pathetic people on this site and the black community that is not up to your standards. I agree with a portion of your comment. The state of the black community needs to rise to new heights. Plain and simple, we need to pull our pants up. They continue to get lower and lower. Simultaneously, our stature in America is falling. We made a considerable contribution by helping to elect our current president. However, since the death of Rev. King the Civil Rights movement has not been worth mentioning. True there are people that have played their positions but no one has had the gumption to become the coach. I understand that many things died when Martin died. Many things died when Malcolm died. At the rate that we have gone over 40 years, it has been in vain. It's still not considered cool to be educated among our black men. Women have trumped us in college for years. There are people that still don't realize the contributions that music has brought us along with the detriment that it can create when taken out of context. We are still oppressed. At this point, we are bowing to oppression of ourselves rather than what another race does to us.
It has been years since we bowed to what the white community said to us but we still haven't made the progress that is necessary. There are plenty of powerful people in athletics, education, music, communications, engineering, and other places. We still don't have the impact yet. Why? There's not just one culprit. But if we look on the surface a lot of it stems from not being able to trust each other. In some cases it isn't warranted but in many cases we have become our own enemies. We stab each other in the back and pull others back into the barrell. For clothes, for jewelry, for vehicles, and for status. There is too much to go around for us to do that. I'm not saying we should like everybody that we meet. As the Devil's Devil's Advocate I'd be a stone cold lie if I said that I did. I don't HATE anyone though. My measure is simple. If I see someone flowing downstream that can't swim I'm going to try to help them even if they have a white hood on their heads. (sidenote: I wouldn't be the DDA if I didn't mention this also. I'm not sure if I'd do it just yet if they killed my family members. More than likely I'd drag them out and beat them. Different story though.)
After being longwinded my point is this. We need to do better without waiting on Obama to try and make it better. There will be millions of Americans that won't agree with his decisions. There's no way to combat that. I read somewhere that he inherited the worst job in America. Look at it this way. If you can't lead your company of 5 or 10 people, you wouldn't survive a week in the Whitehouse. If you can't lead your family, the same applies. He has to do all of that and then some. We need to be leaders in our own right. If we have kids at a young age then the world isn't over. That means that you need to bust your tail even harder. We need more business owners. That means that some of us need to know math and literature so that we don't believe what everyone else hands us. This is too important for us to continue to mess up.
I should've placed this in a blog...I will.

And realize that I'm not trying to put Earl on blast. I just thought that his position should be explained. He might've written things just to stir it up. I'm supposed to be the DDAdvocate here. He can't be taking my position. LOL.
