Black Faces - White Power Looking Under the Veneer

· Monday, November 10th 2008 at 6:48AM · 695 views
Let's faces it. The American Citizens are being raped, looted and pillaged before our very eyes and the same people who participated in the sham have gotten re-elected. The Feel Good Movement of the 60's has really dumbed down the American population to where they can no long think but react to feelings.

It a great thing that Barack Obama has achieved President-Elect status in America. However, he is not the Savior of the Black Community. It is critical that if we as a people are going to see any real progress out of this historic moment, we are going to have to make a decision to set aside time to educate ourselves Politically, Socially, and on Economic.

The sad truth is because of our lack of attention we are moving ourselves in to being at the pray of Movements and Ideas which aren't fundamental to the Black Community. We still haven't woken up to the fact that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have the Black Community interest at heart.

I voted for Barack Obama, but I voted against current Senator and Representative. Neither of which have demonstrated their interest in their constituents by voting for the bail out. Now the Democrats are seeking more bail out money.

How much of that money made it the average citizens? I wonder. Now l'm not against wealth. I am against fraud and deception. That is what the Democrats are hoping to continue to pull over on the population.

I ask what were the public questions on your ballot? Did you even know that they were there? Do you know what type of impact they will have on your lives? Are you current representatives trying to keep you abreast with what they are doing via the internet and weekly radio shows?

We need to be in a position to hold our elected officials accountable, but in order to that we have to know what the issues are. This is going to require a sacrifice of time, talent and treasure.

The point of this post is that it is important that we as Black People start doing the necessary work to become leadership material as opposed to looking for leaders to solve our problems. We need to circulate dollars in our community and educate ourselves to what the issues are in our community.

Brother Clarence you are absolutely on point with this. We as concerned citizens of the United States of America need to make sure that we do everything we can to inform ourselves about the issues in our communities.

We need to pay more attention to the news and news channels, read newspapers and contact our representatives directly either by phone, mail or email. Today, AIG received forty billion more dollars today. Yet, they are throwing parties, renting limos and collecting bonuses for LOSING money. We must demand accountability and the return of all bonuses. There should have been a stipulation stating that NO bonuses will be paid until the 140 billion is paid back.

It is so good to see us taking back our government...As it has not worked for us it must be changed into what will work for us which takes us doing something constructive (exchanging ideas on this site)and exactly as we demand it to be done!!!

Lets give ourselves a pat on the back, a hug and a big (smile)because we now earn it .
