Guests Needed for Internet Talk Radio Show
As most of you know, I am the host of "FIRM...but fair" with Jeffery A. Faulkerson, an Internet talk radio show that is broadcast exclusively on blogtalkradio.com. I am writing today to invite you to listen to the show, but I also want to encourage you to reach out to me if you have a topic weighing on your mind. I am always on the look-out for new show ideas, especially ones that address the critical issues of the day.
I am particularly interested in speaking with people who lived through the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and "60s. I have a recurring segment titled "WE MUST NEVER FORGET: The Civil Rights Movement Then and Now". I endeavor to interview an average Joe and an average Jane during the live 90-minute stream. Past guests for this segment have included Virgealia "Jill" Ellis, Tony Harrington and Roger Madison.
If you're a former collegiate or professional athlete, you may be interested in speaking with me about my recurring segment "OUT OF BOUNDS: Former Black Athletes Speak on the Realities of Sport". This segment is dear to me, because I created it to speak to today's black middle and high school student-athletes. Many of them are so consumed with their athletic exploits that they reserve very little time and energy for academic pursuits. As a former high school and collegiate athlete myself (i.e., track and field), I think this is unacceptable. We former athletes need to do more to awaken them to the realities of sport and life after sport.
If you're a parent or family counselor, why not give me a call to discuss making an appearance on one of my PARENTAL INFLUENCE segments? I'm relatively new to the parenting game - my son is 5 - but I have been a certified parent educator for over 10 years. I believe functional families create functional societies. So, why don't you help a brother out by sharing your experiences and insights with my listening audience.
