Barack Obama's Inauguration - A Poetical Interpretation

Barack Obama's inauguration will
be of candid energy.
Millions will be cheering across the globe.
Mountain tops where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's
dreams will explode with might.

The night before, the spirits of Harriet Tubman,
Sojourner Truth and Fannie Lou Hamer
will visit Obama in his sleep. They will pray
deeply, to help guide him into the continued
march for justice and peaceful journey.

Thousands upon thousands of children
will smile and laugh. They will be joyous
and eager to walk into a new future.

Men will march to the White House in droves.
White, black and brown hands will shake
without any bigotry or hatred.

Women will not wonder if their sons
will have to fight and die in unwanted
and unwarranted wars. They will dance
and hug one another from household to
household.

A feeling of freedom will hover all across
America, all across the world.

We will finally understand that we are not
enemies, that we are friends who have not
made time to talk and understand one another.

We will look one another in the eye to
realize the full capacity of hope.

Faith will bring light to the darkness
of these trying days.

Faith will bring light light to the darkness
of these trying days.

Faith will bring light to the darkness
of these trying days.

And, please what ever "WE" do, do not be led into believing that this is where we get off the train trying to (still)l get us to 'equality/equal justice'...thanks for this post Chris.
