On Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, death-row journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal filed his appeal to the US Supreme Court, asking it to consider his case for a new guilt-phase trial. One month before, the Philadelphia DA filed its separate appeal to the court asking to have Abu-Jamal executed without a new sentencing-phase trial. Both are appealing the March 27, 2008 rulings by the US Third Circuit Court. At this critical stage in Abu-Jamal’s case, supporters organized a week of global solidarity actions that began on December 6, the day of the main protest in Philadelphia. Read more...

Is this the appeal that Johnnie Cochran worked on before he passed away?

I'm not sure, his case continues to be in the news. He is one of, if not the more, famous, modern day, political prisoners in the world at this time. They should give him another appeal, as hard as he speaks out for justice I can't see him being 100% guilt of the crime.

Thank God for all the brothers and sisters of all colors who take the time, effort -money and energy to keep this brother from being murdered by the U.S. government.
After Johnnies death..something must have happened, I thought I had read that he was successful in winning an appeal, I thought it meant a dismissal ..back again, in Philly, with all those cop killings?
