CAN WE PLEASE HAVE A 6-HOUR WORKDAY?

I'm reading now "Kellogg's 6-hour day". in the 1930's a lot of companies had a 6-hour workday due to the increasing work of machines. will somebody tell me why we don't have this today. here are my 3 reasons why we should.
#1- less hours at work would allow us to spend more time with our families and do more volunteer work.
#2- computers can do more manual work than we can do.
#3- if we need more income, then we should all do our own work for extra income like, babysitting, cutting hair, or any skill that we're good at.

if anyone agrees or disagrees with me , let me know.

i'm working now part-time from home with an internet based business. their main goal is to share percentages of companies' profits that are generated on line. i think the 2hours on the back end would be better if you work 9-5. the front end would be better for night shift workers.

i'm in the middle of this book now. the big turning point of going back to 8 hours was managers trying to convince employees that they can get everything from work and not need much leisure time. the problem is that as inflation goes up our incomes do not keep up.
