I too believe that our fate is in our own hands. Not only do we need to volunteer, we just need to be basically better people. We have to grow up. Barack and Michele show us what is possible when we live by our values and have a vision. George Bush did not need any of us to start 2 wars----did not need any of us to bring this nation to Economic misery--he didnt need us to ignore New Orleans and torture and spy on us.........................

we are all needed to do our part in our communities and then in our country. we must realize that we can affect some of the politics in this country. we can either dwell on our rights and our entitlement or we can recognize our duties and responsibilities from our home and family life to our youth and education.
economically, we need to own more businesses for ourselves and make an impact in our own communities.

Earl, this is the problem of the White people(like you are)who still refuse to believe that those of my Black race are INDIVIDUALS or that our new president is a "Constitution" attorney.If you in your world would come out of denial about when President Obama says the words "I"

Also, Earl, "I" am university educated. "I" raised my children to not go to prison, but to go to college and then to go earn a living as a positive on our race, culture and community. "I" have lived my life in a way that "I" will leave this planet a better place then "I" found it...

AND, even more important, I (pray) chant that one day those like you can understand why YOU are now the main stream media's minority that is being ignored on purpose!!?! "I" (pray)chant that Oprah will have a 'White in America special (on her OWN cable network)and tell how the FBI are listening to the home grown TERRORIST as the CHANGE...the KKK and all of it's spin-offs are now on the homeland security WATCH list. "I" wonder if this would be happening if Bush was still in office(smile)

...and Earl, "I" am so proud of my oldest grand child who is in her first year of college making all "A"s therefore continuing a family triadution. Unlike her grand mother, she can spell(smile) Earl, I still love and respect you for excersing your right to freedom of speech.

stephan, another way we can help our President is to keep pounding his messages of "JOBS" that can not be out sourced. Jobs that will provide tax and social Security monies to our economy. Because, it seems that most of our foods and merchants we spend our little money on do not come from America!!!!!!

What about the three C-SPAN channels and the education/sciense networks that I am always talking about. I get my information from every angle that I can find and I am still not limited by subjective, emotional conclusions. Logic is my guide therefore I am able to accept things I do and do not like or agree with. Things that make me both happy and makes me sad...Learning is my goal in life...

And in closing, it is my belief that those ad monies controls what is seen on TV not Murdoch because his FOX networks seem to be on life support. but that is another thing ...None of them talk about the actual Black community in a real world manner and only have TOKEN Blacks any way, but it is part of the real world, right?
