A TEACHING TECHNIQUE- US vs. THEM

It exists everywhere between many different groups, sometimes it exists on the conscious level, sometimes sub-consciously. Consider these groups, tall people vs. short people, bald people vs. people with long hair, Blondes vs. brunettes, and TEACHERS vs. STUDENTS. Imagine this diverseness as an actual physical gap. Here is the concept The larger the gap the less likely knowledge will be able to pass over. Quickly I must add there must be a GAP. A GAP is necessary (no intimate interaction between student and teacher should ever be tolerated.) The bottom line is keep the gap, but keep it narrow. HOW? What is the ACTION STEP? Use the talking point. Say, “I am not the ENEMY”. Now Identify the real enemy. Say “the enemy is IGNORANCEDescribe the ENEMY, “Say the enemy will make you miserable, keep you broke, unhappy and even kill you.” Personify the ENEMY. Get a mannequin place Freddy Kruger gloves on him. Sit him in corner. When a student fails to perform up to expectations, point to the mannequin and say, “He is going to get you.” ( you can stuff paper in clothes to create this effigy) MORE ACTION STEPS ______________________ Action step Never use yall -you Use WE- US Don't say I GOT MINE ,YOU GET YOURS SAY WE ARE GOING TO LEARN THIS YOUR JOB GOES BEYOND PRESENTING LESSONS REMEMBER Often you cannot EDUCATE until you first MOTIVATE You have heard of the conept of MOTIVATE SELLER let's try to create MOTIVATED LEARNERS Let's INSPIRE our students, motivate our students, then educate our students Make your classroom LEARNER FRIENDLY check out how to learn Never embarrass a student. Operate on the principle that YOU ONLY FAIL WHEN YOU QUIT TRYING. Give students an opportunity to attempt a task over to achieve better results. This US versus THEM concept will greatly improve your results AND make going to work a JOY
