I,m very concerned about the music I hear on the radio. The Black music industry only seems to concentrate on s*x and the booty lyrics. Our kids can't wait to find out what it's like to have s*x. Young people don't realize the consequences that happen afterwards. I'm sure that songs can sound just as entertaining if the singers uses a different choice of words, because a real singer can make any song sound good.

Mr. Maxwell, we see it in way TOO MANY of our kids. For all the complaints about the music being degrading or exploitative, people are just providing lip service because they still go out and buy it. The best way to keep something alive is to keep entertaining it. Also, it could be a combination of people not agreeing with and not buying it and people who are either ambivalent or naive about various contexts and influence buy it because of those factors. Not everyone sees the harm and to me, that's the most tragic thing of all.

Mr. Maxwell, you're absolutely right. Anything you receive into yourself can and will affect you at SOME point. If a moment that takes all of 15 seconds to begin and end can affect you, of course, of course music (and movies) can as well.
This can be especially effective if dealing with a person who is still in an identity crisis or confused about who and whose (s)he is. People who are not sure of themselves can be most susceptible to being defined by outside influences.
