29 YEAR OLD MAN FATHERS 21 KIDS WITH 11 WOMEN

As if Octomom wasn't bad enough, a Tennessee man, 29 year old Desmond Hatchett has now fathered at least 21 children he can't support. Hatchett was in child support court again last week. His name appeared on the dockett 11 times in one day, representing 15 of his children.

Hatchett says he wasn't out to set a record. He says he never intended to have this many children, "It just happened." He fathered the children by at least 11 different women and he claims all of the mothers knew about his large family. The children range in age from newborn to 11 years old.

The question Knox County officials now face is how to support all these children. Hatchett works a minimum wage job and by law the state can only take 50% of his paycheck for child support. By the time that money is split 21 ways, some of the mothers get less than $2 per month. That leaves the taxpayers footing a large portion of the bill for these children.

Even though Hatchett can't support the children he has, there is nothing the state can do to prevent him from having more. Hatchett reports that he had 4 children in one year, twice. He says he's done having children now, but only time will tell. He does say that he's a good father and knows the names, ages, and birthdates of all of his children.

All of the blame can't be placed on Hatchett in this case. One has to wonder about the women who chose to have his children. In the end, the children and the taxpayers of Tennessee will pay for their choices for years to come.

I have to smile a bit...This story reminds me of that song by the Temptations "Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Wherever He Laid His Hat Was His Home" (LOL)

On my biological father's side, I have at least 32 brothers and sisters. The overwhelming majority were had after my mother ended their relationship. (They were to be married, but he raised his hand to her. He DIDN'T hit her, but his raising his hand was enough. At some point, she was certain he would connect. And it ain't slander when it's true. He has the same story. When I met him at age 18, that's exactly what he said happened).

Of the siblings, I've only actually MET one and you can tell we're related! I refuse to go to the family reunions because he and I don't have a relationship at all. And that's actually a mutual choice.

Blessings...

Papa was a rolling stone indeed.

He would be ordered to have a vasectomy, as per information according to planned parenthood: Vasectomy at a Glance

* Sterilization for men that prevents pregnancy
* Safe and effective
* Costs $350 to $1,000
* Meant to be permanent

As for it not being all of his fault, no it's not, but he also knew that he could not afford to provide for his children and had a responsibility to cover it up, pull out or just keep it in his pants period. As for the women, what no one is employed? That is the only way the taxpayers will have to provide for his children.

What was he taught about the birds and the bees, that crap of " Momma's baby Poppa's maybe" Now if you see ole boy on the corner ( I don't condone this mess at all), but leave him alone. Because he unless he hits it big in a lottery, the pros or making music or something and become an over night sensation, he will never be able to make enough to provide for all these children.

@ Ajonelle- personally I could care less about people of another persuasion shaking their heads- they need to worry about their people constantly using our men as an scapegoat for crimes they are committing, in addition I'm shaking my head at him, this is his mess not our community as a whole and the sooner we stake claim to that fact the better we all could be.
