The Race to Pass Real Health Care Reform in 2009 is Heating Up!! Will You Join Us?

All Americans from the youngest to the oldest should have access to quality medical care irrespective of ability to pay. My mom has been out of work like many Americans. The other day she had some problems with her stomach for which I thought she should see a doctor. No sooner than I got the word out of my mouth, I realized that she couldn't see a doctor w/out health coverage. In America this shouldn't be the case.

Don't allow this moment (Universal Health Care Reform) to slip by. Think of an America where one can choose any doctor or hospital w/out prior preapproval just by showing your Universal Health Card. It is possible and other countries are doing it. I was taught in school that America was the best country in the world, but we aren't the best when it comes to our health care system. We are lagging behind countries such as Cuba, England, Sweden, and Canada. Please don't allow lobbyists and people in high places influenced by greed and capitalism to derail us from what we all know should be done. Don't let Republicans and their lobbyist mislead us ( like they did with those "WMD" & the Iraq war ) by twisting the facts saying President Obama wants to make the US a Socialist country. Get the facts and stay informed!

What social security? I hardly think one program can qualify as socialism when people work for years to pay into it before they even qualify before a certain age to get it. I will admit that while I've worked in health care for a while, I don't know the ins and out as you guys do, but isn't that how SS works?

I'll have to look into the single payor option and read the article you gave the link for Brother Maxwell. My key goal was to start the dialogue. Is anyone attending any house meetings or groups in their area?

Great article Brother Maxwell... I think the single payor should be an option. It's working for Europe's NHS. Change is possible when the timing is right. We need a better way than what we have now. I used to work for Horizon Blue Shield Blue Cross and these companies only want to increase their bottom line. I'm all for edging the private for profit insurance companies out. When ever I see any thing about medicare or social security, I start wondering has our government ever paid back on red cent of the years of "borrowing' from them. And, if not then how is there any money there as our jobs that pay any living wages have been out sourced first to the south where there were no unions and after the south demanded and got living union wages and benefits those jobs were our sourced out of the country.

Sorry but any thing my government says, I must wait for them to prove it is going to work. Or maybe now with this new administration's new ideals ,in a few years after we have had a lot of investigations into lobby money cover-ups still covered upI will gain beck my former trust in my political leaders .(smile)
