Dear Gardeners: Holey Moley!

Help!
Everything is growing so beautifully but holey moley! I’ve discovered a pest it’s Mr. Mole. Moles invade thousands of yards every year and they’re always building a tunnel. If you’ve noticed a recent viewing of any of the following:

A small tiny looking volcano
Fresh dirt diggings
Several holes in your yard or garden
A new friend around your dog’s house
…chances are like me… you’ve got a MOLE!

The first thing I raved “How do I get rid of this uninvited visitor?” “Don’t panic I ensured myself… there are ways.”
Off I went to investigate what I could do. The most common and effective way I’ve found so far is of course using a trap. I found and discovered many advices too! Using devices that would take that pest from my yard like yard wind mills and those whirling sunflowers! . I’ve read from putting hot sauce down their holes, using poisons and rodent bait, and some that sound totally ridiculous! I’ve been smashing their paths to run them away and this is a daily routine. Guess I'll have to call the exterminator!

Can any of you advice? Don’t laugh at me…I need help!

Irma, I love you dear....but please keep those gophers. Gum? I might do that if I don't chew it (smiles) Seriously though, I think I'm going to have to call a exterminator or either set a trap. I've never handle a mole before but I'm not giving up.

Cute little rabbits can do a lot of damage to your flowers. They are hard to chase out of your gardens and they keep multiplying! Try popping firecrackers! I understand it you do that often they'll tend to be frightened away. Grass is tough Clark, even with weed killers grass has it way into your beds. I feel for you cause I know how that is. Still we can enjoy the beauty which makes us lovers of beautiful things!

I will tell you , I will trade you my gophers for your mole(smile)I doubt if the moles are as busy or makes it almost impossible to mow that the gophers do therefore I will be willing to trade any time(smile)

Some years back some children made a mint from getting rid of gophers and would not tell how they did this. It turned out the they used chewing gum to manage to kill them. I tried this but had not luck or I did but did not kill the off springs. But, the children were successful so try some gum maybe. They used Jucyfruit and said do not allow human scent to get on the gum so give this a try on your moles...

I feel you Clark with the rabbits. I had that rabbit nightmare once, but they were the neighbor's children's pet rabbits that tended to get loose a lot and eat my flowers therefore we were not allowed to take drastic measures much like you have been deemed not able to do any thing either...I guess the only comfort to be able to take is the rabbits prefer some flowers over others.(smile)
