I know what you mean. I'm was born and raised in the good ole south & have seen my share of bigotry as well as s*xism. Hi Jen, and for any of the young people who did not recieve my 'message to all' each time I see a blog with the name Judge Sonia Sotomajore's relating to these hearings, I will maybe may make this same comment that I did in my 'message to all'. Because Unlike many my age, they may not know how they will be experiencing reasons why those of us not White had such a hard time trying to get the right to vote in the south...

Back then the White Politicians(much like our Senate that have no minority people) were able to just OUT RACIST THE NEXT RACIST POLITICIAN to get into and to stay in office...2010 is a century from the 1960s but Bigot politicians still have a base, it is called Republican Right -Wing!!!!!!!(smile)

Jim Crow rules will be coming out in full force trying to demean Judge Sotomayor from these politicians in their racist CODE words eventhough they know she will get on the Supreme Court in the first place. So please remember you will see that racism and Jim Crow is still alive and well in America(n) Politics to stay in office!!!!!!! The elections of 2010 and 2012 are not far away.(smile)

I am so glad that you, me and so, so many more of us are going to be able to 'see' right through this new, yet old form of racism in our government while at the same time the racist political image is still so alive that they do not see how those like Judge Sotomajor and president Obama are no longer coming under that old banner of FIRST meaning the same as TOKEN (smile)

The longer these racist remain in their state of all who have not been raised with a FATHER as head of household will never be allowed to move beyind the status of TOKEN or bad for this country!!!!!! Have ended!!!!!!

Have any of you noticed that our president's latest picks to watch his back in his greatest goals set by him to bring our government back to help the common American citizens and not big business / lobby are women who were raised in single parent homes?!? And, onto the highest court in the land to undo much of some of the damages the right-wing's efforts to undo much of what was accopmlished in the 60s?!? Some of the damages of the last 8 years to the name of America and even to Democracy by the Bush led administration?


Please, watch these hearings and try to look at what is trying to be pulled over our eyes in 2010 and 2012 if we want to help the Obama administration try to get us to take back our government because it is all tied into the Constitutiion or the law of our land...please...as it is good for the country and it is good for all of mankind...

Another sign that we as a country have risen above the Black single mom is not good for the country. Not that we want to bring along single teens on a political campaing as being what we want to be remembered as promoting in the country, but then we Liberals were not running on the same political base as those of the Republican right-wings were we?(smile)
