Jamie and Gladys Scott
Residence: Mississippi
Age: 19 and 22
Time served: 14 years
Number of children left behind: 5
Neither had any sort of criminal record.
Both were gainfully employed.
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN???
It happened because each of the five young men involved in the scuffle had criminal
records, and were consequently threatened with life sentences (for conjured up charges) if they did not agree to the false story about the Scott Sisters. All five accounts wereconflicting. One 14-year-old boy even tried to save the Scott sisters by telling the jury about the sheriff threatening him: “If you don't testify, you'll be made into a woman in prison.”
Witnesses confirmed that the Scott sisters were walking home at the time of the incident.Three affidavits exist wherein the involved men claim they were forced by the sheriffs to testify falsely. The jury was white. It was later discovered that the jurors were also threatened. Jamie and Gladys have spent fourteen years in prison for a crime they did not commit: robbery of $10.
Consider:
Three months earlier, a local restaurant was robbed by two men. The same sheriff tried to bribe the restaurant owner to accuse the Scott sisters of the robbery. The owner refused.
PLEASE HELP FREE JAMIE AND GLADYS SCOTT! After so much suffering, they deserve
to be with their children and family.

I just can't believe things like this still happen. There is an organization called Color of Change ( www.colorofchange.org ), perhaps this organization can help spread the word with its large number of members on the web. They also helped spread the word about the Jena6 along with others organizations and radio networks.
