..."When a seat opened on the Hillside Board of Education, George Cook III saw the chance to fulfill a personal goal -- serve the township he grew up in. Cook ran unsuccessfully for school board last year. This spring, he lost his bid for township council.
But the losses didn't dampen Cook's desire to serve Hillside, particularly its school system, and now he's getting his chance. Former school board member Angela Garretson won a seat to the township council in June, opening a seat on the school board. The nine-member board unanimously selected Cook to fill that vacancy on Thursday"...
Now that's what I call perseverance Brother Cook... We all need to join some type of board in order to represent the interests of our communities similar to the how our White brothers and sisters do. Again Congrats!
