9/11/01 Where were you?

Where were you on September 11, 2001 when the WTC Towers were attacked? I was on Staten Island with my husband and his friend watching one local television news channel report one of the Towers had been hit. I didn't realize it then, but my life would never be the same. Let us never forget those we lost and please keep their loved ones in prayer.

I was at home in Alameda, CA when one of my kid's friends came over and told me to turn on the TV. I immediately went and got my kids out of school. Everyone was in shock and I had other parents asking should they take their kids home. They could not seem to comprehend the enormity of it.

I was in the 11th grade. I remember thinking that it was some joke...until I saw those buildings burning on live television on ABC. What I remember vividly is the fear that entered my psyche. Fear that's still there. I haven't felt safe in this country since 9/11. I'm always waiting on the other shoe to drop.

I was at work too! When the message came through it was confusing to me. I didn't fully understand what was being said. After the truth sinked in I felt a sense of disbelief that anything like that could be really happening, then sorrow, anger, and I felt that God's was in control of that time; which gave me much comfort that he was in control of everything! This is great blog question Jen!

It's strange how we all know where we were on that September day. I've suffered as many people with anxiety and fear since that dreadful day, but like Miisrael stated...God was in control then & I add that God is still in control now. Thanks for sharing.

I was on my way to work and hadn't heard a thang. My manager came into the office all red faced and teary eyed. He looked at me and asked me if I heard about what happened and I said no. He turned on the radio and went to his office and closed the doors. Then I heard about the first and second plane crashing. A couple minutes later he came into my office where we stayed until the second building came down. I never heard the office as quiet and filled with such sadness as that day. And that was the only time I saw a manager of mine cry like a baby (and me too).

Sister Crystal so many tears were shed that day and Brother Rickey may we never forget in order that we learn that true security comes from God rather than man.
