RACISM IS ALIVE AND WELL!!!

RACISM IS ALIVE AND WELL!!!

Siebra Muhammad · Monday, September 14th 2009 at 12:40PM · 1337 views
Racism is still alive and well. The National Urban League puts out the state of Black America books out every year and it is very evident of the large disparity that still exists between us and the white man. Even with a quality education, quality means of income, and quality standard of living. The US government still pays millions of dollars to conduct studies on our disparities under the Eisenhower and Kerner Commissions that maintain that we are in a worse condition now as a people than we were during the time of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. The white man has perfected his racism. That is why it is hard for many to see his evil as one of my BIA friends described with school age children.

When I was growing up, conscious rap was continually played. Now, the rap that's on the airwaves is so hard to fathom. The rappers don't even rhyme anymore. The books in the African American sections of the bookstores used to carry books that raised your conscious level. Now those books are replaced with Black s*x books. How many books can you write about s*x anyways? The talk shows such as Oprah don't speak of race anymore, they have been dumbed down. All strong Black male figures are all but gone from the mainstream media. The white man has done a great job perfecting his racism.

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are primary examples of the white mans colonial mindset being still in place like never before. Now I love our President, however think over this: If Obama's mother wasn't white, he wouldn't be in the White House. Neither he or Atty Gen. Holder have had the courage to say anything definitive for the sake of our people. They shuck and jive to portray the image of a Black face with a white mind. That was why Rev. Wrights denunciation became such a lithmus test for his ascension into the White House.

There is no evidence of the fact that the younger generation of white people are less racist than their parents and grandparents. They may listen to Jay Z and emulate our Hip Hop culture, but they do not relegate power and control to us as a people. If they act 'cool' its out of guilt or due to some advantage that they have down the line. As it was in the days of our enslavement, the white man still forces himself upon our sisters s*xually. Sisters have told me that they go to parties and the white men automatically assume the sister is going to do a tip drill. Racism is more than saying the N word or even saying you don't like Black people. Racism falls into the category of s*x, law, labor, sociology, religion, health. In all of these areas the Black man is lacking and dysfunctional. All attributes to our condition are rooted in the collective effort of white people to make it that way. Abraham Lincoln is credited for freeing the slaves, but even he said that he preferred the superiority of the white over the Black.

Sister Siebra,

First, let me re-post this link I posted on my blog "Race" which has gotten little attention:

http://www.understandingrace.org/

Next, take a look at the last couple exchanges between Harry and me on his blog "Why do Black Americans resent intelligence in another Black American?"

He actually made a significant comment that did not include "sovereignty with borders"!!! (And this was related to the purity of race.)

As well, on my blog "The Stigma of Slavery", I was made to understand by Mozell and Irma that we need to see each other as individuals, rather than as a member of a group.

In addition, I have asked Herbert Harris on his blog "Will America succumb to the cancer of racism?" "Are the Democrats the party of Blacks? " I did not receive a reply.

Finally, the site we are on is "Black in America", which automatically categorizes those here (I guess with the exception of me).

Now, when I take all these things together, I am starting to think that what we need to do is modify our concept of "race" and deal with the underlying issues of poverty and lack of education. If we continue to cry Racist!, does this not distract from the real underlying issues?

Clark, I see what you mean, I am looking to overcome it. Perhaps by focusing on economics rather than color? I am just throwing this out there. For instance ACORN, not about race but economic, where you see blacks and whites side by side?

Mozell, You have taught me some valuable lessons, and part is to cogitate and interpret, but sometimes it helps to have more explicit direction, for those who don't intuitively get it.

Hello Ms. Muhammad,

When is this nonsense of all of you going to stop, except for Steve? When are you all going to stop whining and complaining over racism?

Racism started when slavery of our ancestors started, what is mentally wrong with you all?

Mr. Frederick Douglass whined and complained over racism. Booker T. Washington and WB Dubose whined and complained as well over racism. Dr. King was protesting over racism. Mr. Farrakhan and Mr. Elijah Muhammad aggressively fought against racism. Rev. Al Sharpton is presently fighting against racism. Now the National Urban League has issued a bulletin that racism is still alive and well.

Mr. Maxwell baffles me to ask such a question as what are the underlying issues. Are you all out of your minds?

Since the National Urban League said that we are worse off today than we were when Dr. King was around, then we are also dumber today than we were when Dr. King was around.

Let me say it for you again, our only permanent solution is that we become a sovereign people on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. But first, our prophet must raise us to an intelligent level to understand and appreciate our permanent solution, which is sovereignty. Am I not trying to raise you all from any dead level to a perpendicular? It is a very difficult job to raise a dead people. Only God through the prophet could do such a thing. Minister Farrakhan needs to be raised as well.

Now, Steve said that he is tired of hearing me constantly repeat sovereignty. However, Steve is not subjugated. Steve is White, so it is common sense to expect that Steve do not want us to become a sovereign people.

What say you?

Harry, I was just excited that we were discussing race, which of course is related to what you usually talk about, but not exactly the same.

Harry Watley Tuesday, September 15th 2009 at 11:35AM

Hello Steve,

Naturally, I am always excited to talk about race since Black Americans are a subjugated people and believe it or not, I have been anointed by God to lead us into sovereignty on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. This portion we will inherit from our ancestors being in this country from day one.

So, I am interested in your comments. Your comments cannot hurt my cause; if anything, they could only help my cause.

So, do you think the findings of the National Urban League concerning racism is alive and well is correct?

What say you?

I have not read that report but only because I haven't had the money, even though it's only $10. But lucky me, I finally got back to work today and now will definitely be ordering it. I will let you know when I've read it.

Hello Clark, good to see you brother, I have posted one thought on Harry's "Why do Black Americans resent intelligence in another Black Americans?". Just to show it is not black and white.
