BLACK WOMAN FACES 15 YEAR SENTENCE AS
CIVIL RIGHT GROUPS ORGANIZES MARCH

Today, large groups of black and white marches gathered at the MLK Center in Memphis to journey for a march in Kenneth, MO. Groups from the Southern Leadership Conference, and NAACP along with citizens of Memphis met and travelved to Kenneth, MO .The purpose of the the march was to support Heather Ellis who is facing a 15 year sentence for cutting in line at a local Kenneth, MO, Walmart store approixmately two years ago. Ellis is said to be facing charges of assaulting an officer and distrubing the peace. Ellis, who is presently attending medical school is seeking to clear her record, because she will not be able to attend with a stained background.

Members of the NAACP and The Southern Leadership Conference met and traveled to march in Kenneth, MO. around 7 a.m. Once they arrived, the march was peaceful, but, under-currents of the white supremency groups have made their notice presence and thought to propose threats against the family. The march was met with heavy police coverage. Heather will be facing sentencing on Wednesday, November 18, 2009. Ellis' father is determined that her record should be cleared of any wrong-doing and that she should not serve a prison term. Souces state that about 200 people attended the march.

Another teachable moment at least it sounds like it should be...

There's no justice in America unless you're rich, white and well connected. The rich white would never even had a charge to begin with in this case.

Wow where is JUSTICE in this country?

There are different accounts of this story. Witnesses stories clash. This is way blown out of proportion. No one should go to prison for something that silly. Lol.

If you even think they should then maybe you should go to hell because devils like you belong there. Black and white devils.

Whatever conclusion is made in this touch and go case, it's certain to leave it to justice to be fair. Some of the clues, details about the incident are not all clear. However, I think the sentence of 15 years is a bit much. Even community work would be a better sentence than jail time. We'll watch closely and see what happens.
