Bad Black Mothers (How the movie Precious is a Set-up for Black destruction)

Know4LIFE Note: Hollywood, which is controlled by anti-Black forces. I have to say anti-Black because many of our people are offended if you point out the real people by name, but they should understand that Hollywood is anti-Black.
Never-the-less, Hollywood along with Oprah Winfrey (Color Purple) and Tyler Perry (cross dressing Black man) have produced a movie that is being pushed by those same anti-Black forces and will no doubt receive numerous awards.
Understand, the movie is not meant for Blacks. It will be circulated all over the world to show how savage Black man are to Black women and how neglectful and abusive Black mothers are. In other words, it is a set up to once again justify the coming attack on the Black community. You can talk this warning or let it alone, but you will see it come to pass.

Bad black mothers are everywhere these days.

With Michelle Obama in the White House, consciously and conspicuously serving as mom-in-chief, I expected (even somewhat dreaded) a resurgence of Claire Huxtable images of black motherhood: effortless glamour, professional success, measured wit, firm guidance, loving partnership, and the calm reassurance that American women can, in fact, have it all.

Instead the news is currently dominated by horrifying images of African American mothers.

Most ubiquitous is the near universally celebrated performance of Mo'Nique in the new film Precious. Critically and popularly acclaimed Precious is the film adaption of the novel Push. It is the story of an illiterate, obese, dark-skinned, teenager who is pregnant, for the second time, with her rapist father's child. (Think The Color Purple in a 1980s inner-city rather than 1930s rural Georgia) Read more...

Hello Mr. S. Muhammad,

All that Black American does is whine and complain. We, as a people, need to stop whining and complaining. Mr. Farrakhan whines and complains and you can see it in his speeches. Mr. Farrakhan neither promotes nor advocates a permanent solution of his whining and complaining.

Now, if you understand that the movie, “Precious” is offensive to Black mothers what could you do about it except whine and complain. But, supposedly if we were a sovereign people or have complete independence on the portion of this confident that we could call our very own country we would not be faced with this movie, now would we be?

We are going to become a sovereign people. We are going to inherit a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. We are going to become a different people. Only an anointed one of God can bring about these changes in us. Many can talk and do good deeds, but only an anointed one of God could bring about permanent changes.

You should recognize your anointed prophet; he will not be claiming to be aligned with anything in existence before his coming. He will neither claim to be a Muslim nor a Christian. Everything that he has for Black Americans will be new and specifically for Black Americans right down to Black America’s religion. Do you understand where I am coming from?

Tell me what you think.

g smallwood Sunday, November 29th 2009 at 9:21PM

I believe this view of the movie seeks to protect grown black men and black women and not the children that did not choose to be in this family. The children forced to live under this kind of rule grow up so hurt and they will become adults and hurt others. Instead of rescuing them, we want to protect their parents. It's easy to play pretend,be in denial and blame anyone else for presenting lies. But it is not a lie and Michelle Obama, or her husband the President, can not overcome what's really happening in our culture. They are the hope, but we've got to clean up a lot of junk. What's real, what's true?

Steven Muhammad Sunday, November 29th 2009 at 11:26PM

I agree with you Mrs Smallwood we do have to address these serious issues that are destroying our community. Have you read the article: Bad Black Mothers? If not please read it. Hollywood is not putting this movie out to help us address the serious issues that affect our community. Hollywood is part of the problem. As I stated above, this movie is not for the Black man and woman, it is the "framing" of the Black community for the world to see the Black man as a savage and Black mothers as neglectful and Black children wishing to be other than themselves. Tell me, where is the movie that shows the white man as a child molester and serial killer. I'm not talking about Saw or any of the other fantasy movies, I'm talking about a real depiction, the one that shows his sickness, but later for him. In these movies we see the sickness, our sickness, but we never see the cause of our sickness. How did the Black man, who historically saw his woman as a Goddess and Queen become such an abuser. How did the Black woman, Black mother become so abusive of her own children? Why does Hollywood avoid making movies about how we have overcome racism and white supremacy? Where is the movie about Marcus Garvey, Ida B. Wells, Paul Robinson or the Black Messiah, Jesus. They don't what you to see yourself in a positive light, because we may decide to live that way. Therefore they perpetuate the negative. Always the negative.
We have a beautiful strong image of how a women should be in the first lady Michelle Obama and how a man should treat his woman and children in Pres. Obama. This image has to be negated. So Hollywood HAS TO PAINT ANOTHER PICTURE for the world. It's called propaganda. No disrespect to Oprah or Perry but they are not the most conscious Black people, that is why Hollywood loves them.

Hello to all,

Why do you all continuously whine and complain and at the end of the day there is only one thing that could be done and that is to embrace the concept of sovereignty.

Do you all not want to have complete independence on a portion of this continent that you could call your very own country with borders? Do you all not want to have your hands on the helm of the own destiny? Do you all not want God to do for us that, which was done for the Hebrew people when they were in bondage in Egypt?

Do you all not believe that our problems could simply be resolved if we were a sovereign people?

Did I not say that in order for our problems to be resolved we must be removed from the influences of White America? In other words, if we do not become a sovereign people isn’t by common sense that our present and past problems will continue indefinitely

What is wrong with the rationale of you people?

What say you?

Harry Watley Monday, November 30th 2009 at 4:44AM

Hello Ms. Leah,

You said this, “NOT ONE SOLUTION TO ALL THE ISSUES HE BROUGHT UP? WHY THEN MAKE THIS MOVIE? There lies the question.”

Ms. Leah, you baffle me along with the rest of you all. How it is that you could become upset with Mr. Perry because he does not have a solution?

What I am alluding to is that you have access to me while Mr. Perry does not and I have told you that our permanent solution is to embrace the concept of sovereignty or have complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders.

Consequentially, you are in the position to give Mr. Perry our permanent solution instead of looking for a solution from Mr. Perry especially when you see that he does not have a solution. You need to think brighter than you are presently doing.

Not only am I telling you what our permanent solution is, but I am also telling you that it is going to happen. I have the authority to say the things that I do because I am God’s anointed one to Black Americans. No one else could bring about our sovereignty except me. Just the same as no one else could bring about the Exodus of the Hebrew people except Moses and as Pharaoh could not stop the Exodus so, it is that White America cannot stop our sovereignty as well.

In a reasonable, time to come Mr. Farrakhan will follow me as all Black Americans will come to follow me as well.

Tell me what you think.

Steve Williams Monday, November 30th 2009 at 9:18AM

Leah, thanks for your review. I had no intention of watching it, but it's good to have your assessment. Will there be a boycott?

Steve Williams Monday, November 30th 2009 at 9:21AM

Steven, I can think of some inspiring movies, like Men of Honor.

Steven Muhammad Monday, November 30th 2009 at 10:07AM

I don't think there needs to be a boycott, just balance. And yes there are a few inspirational movies, I would still like to see movies about Blacks working with Blacks to make things happen and not (one black person) working to integrate into white society. Let's see Ida B. Wells, Marcus Garvey, and the many Black inventors who never got the credit for making technologically advanced.

Steve Williams Monday, November 30th 2009 at 10:52AM

I agree. There are a lot of subjects. Who are the movie makers to do it?

Marquerite Burgess Monday, November 30th 2009 at 11:33AM

This movie was based on a book. It is not an actual true story, but it is true for many females (regardless to color) incest is and has been something going on in many communities for years. I saw the entire movie and it does have a theme of inspiration in it for those women who are or have been in that position to continue to strive for the best in life regardless to the circumstances dealt your way. Despite all things " Precious" found herself, her true self and stopped living her life based on what she was told she was, who she was or how her life was going to be.

What bothers me the most is that too many people want to shy away from some realities, there are mothers like that one portrayed by Monique. All may not be permanently tanned people, but they do exist. Her daydreaming was not as much about daydreaming, but as a mental escape during her assaults, her way to make horrible situations not be so horrible to her. Besides, I don't agree that this movie is a set-up for black destruction that was already done hundreds of years ago nor do I feel that it is reflective of all black mothers or will be seen as such. Only small minded people will view it that way, which is no different than the views, those same people already have about permanently tanned men and women. This is evident in the way TV shows and the media in all its forms portray us anyway. We can barely get a news report about our missing women, men and children. We are the balance, those of us that do not fit in that model. Tyler Perry does movies of a comedic nature and some permanently tanned people have a problem that. The minimal tv shows that had cast of all permanently tanned people was canceled and not enough of the same type of people fought to keep them on, remember they needed to receive a paycheck to provide for their families also. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and what one may enjoy does not mean someone else will enjoy it, but when we collectively stop consigning to the " this is a reflection on all of us" mentality the better all of us will be. Just my thoughts.

Brother Clark I thought movies were made to generate money.

Steven Muhammad Wednesday, December 2nd 2009 at 2:42PM

Hollywood and Mainstream media do not produce movies and TV shows for money. Nor do they produce them for entertainment or to inform you (ie the News). The goal of Hollywood and the mainstream media is to shape how you think about yourself and others.

It is anit-Black, Muslim and Family, it is in essence Un-Godly. This includes radio station, the ones we don't control. There goal is control, mental mind manipulation.

The video attached gives a simple understanding of how media works. You can interchange TV with Movies. Those who fund the movies control, to a large degree, the message.

robert powell Sunday, December 6th 2009 at 9:24AM

monique is a symbol of American motherhood from the negro perspective, that makes money in the ghettos for hollywood.
she is a pig and cognac made woman, who dreams of blond hair, blueeyed slimness.

she produces, ghettos, the majority of the lawless prison population, antifamily men and women, promiscuous females, HivAids-40oz drinkers, dirty kitchens and roaches.

just entertainment?

Steven Muhammad Monday, December 7th 2009 at 7:30PM

Check out this video from YO!Thots. It's young Black girls commenting on the movie, interesting. Our people are waking up to the negative affects of images and manipulative propaganda of Hollywood - http://vimeo.com/7951543

robert powell Tuesday, December 8th 2009 at 9:15AM

Steven,
