Tuesday night the Senate voted for a motion to table (scrap) the Nelson Amendment, effectively killing it. It passed by a vote margin of 54-45. A "yea" vote on the motion to table is a vote to kill the amendment.
The Nelson Amendment closely mirrors the dangerous language of the House-passed Stupak-Pitts amendment that would ban abortion coverage in public and private insurance plans that receive federal funds.

My prediction is this, if this bill passes including Federal funding for abortions, Obama will not get re-elected and the Democrats in general will see significant losses in the next election.
