In times of turmoil slow down.
1. Learn meditation. Learn deep rhythmic breathing to enhance it. If meditation is hard for you then find some music that feeds alpha waves to your brain. Did you know that in Ancient Kemet also known as Egypt our ancestors used music to enhance the students relaxation therefore their learning ability. Gospel music or most music coming from African Americans is very sad so avoid it for it stems from our depressed state of slavery. This is historical scientific fact not put up for argument.
2. Stretch everyday starting with a light warm up no less than 10 minutes to get the connective tissue to unfreeze. Try slow jogging and rotating limbs to get the warmth into the joints. Try taichi or moving yoga. But do stretch everyday to get the tension out of your body therefore out of your mind.
3. Eat more green vegetables. Yes these live foods can give you energy. Get you some multi-vitamins as this should always be apart of your grocery bill. Foods today are over-processed and the soil is weak so we don't get enough vitamins anyway. Get some protein into your diet to assist in tissue growth and our bodies are always losing tissue due to cells dying every minute in us, this normal as we have trillions of cells. Get some fiber to help with digestion and drink plenty of water. Water helps with everything including blood, smoothness of body fluids and processes.
4. Power walk for those of you whom don't know any exercise. Power walking is exaggerated walking with high knees raised and high swinging arms. Remember your fitness level and don't over extend or lose balance. For those whom are more fit get you a jump rope. Jump rope is a cheap way to get a full body work out. You can start with 15 jumps on both feet with 5 sets with 1 minute rest in between. Then switch to one leg alternates for 10 jumps. Every other day you can increase the number by 5 jumps until you get strong. Don't forget to stretch your calfs and lower legs as this area will tighten with use. Stretch before and after. Always start with a light 10 minute joint warm up. Cardio can be done with power walking or jump rope. Remember you must get 3 sessions of 30 minutes 120 beats per mintue heart rate workouts to have a strong heart.
5. Read meditation books or watch spiritual videos for entertainment. Stay away from tempting television shows that only drive the impulses that include music. Those of you whom watch sports be weary of the commercials as they try to tempt you into lifestyles you can't afford or use indulging impulses to support their products.
5. Go out of your way to support black business. Remember we are the ones most suffering during these times because we don't support Black businesses. This is a generational mindset that started with Baby Boomers but we all are guilty of continuing this. By supporting Black Business we are saying we want to have finances and have prosperity in our community and ultimately in our own pockets. Anything you want or goals you have to sacrifice for it so that means you must do it even if it hurts. Don't complain of higher prices when you shop with your own. Remember other communities have cheaper prices because they have our money supporting them as well as their own. We must stop patronizing those whom boycott us and then preach diversity but don't practice it with us. I can't say enough about this but we must shop with our own to give ourselves a positive boost.
You can make it through this dark time if you show faith and improve upon your faith. This is a time the rulers of this dark world have decided to show you who's boss. But we know God rules this world so you must act in accordance with your belief and show that faith to God not the current rulers. So do God's work by working on your enlightment as this is the true purpose of all material comfort to allow us time and comfort to work on God's design.
Keep fit and stay happy.
Dear John:
BEAUTIFUL!!! Every one of your points is right on--and so helpful for peace of mind. I appreciate your emphasis on meditation. The efects of meditation have been studied in medical labs. The findings show that meditation decreases blood pressure, heart rate, anxiety, and increases resistance to illness and a general sense of well being.
The only question I have is about your description of the I Ching. It is a traditional Chinese scripture using 64 hexagrams with Chinese symbols. It was used by Confucius, dating from about 500 BC. I am not familiar with the West African Ifa system. It may be similar but I don't see how it can use Chinese characters. Maybe the WEst AFrican Ifa system goes by another name.
In any case, this is a minor point. The essence of what you say is pure wisdom--everyone would be better off if they paid attention!
PEACE!
