The American news agency VOA, reports that the United States has increased security screenings for air travelers from 14 countries, in response to the attempted Christmas Day bombing of a U.S. jetliner flying from Amsterdam to Detroit. The Transportation Security Administration said Sunday that every individual flying into the U.S. from or through nations that are state sponsors of terrorism or other countries of interest will be subject to enhanced screening.

Nigeria is included in the list of countries of interest. Somali, Libya, Algeria, and Sudan are the other African nations on the terror watch list. Below is a short animation inspired by the recent negative publicity that Nigeria has been receiving in the international media. ( see video uploaded to site) A statement by EVCL who uploaded on You Tube, captures the mood following the US government announcement:

Nigeria is now shorthand for anything bad in the international medias eyes. Travelling with a Nigerian passport was bad enough already but now its definitely going to be more interesting. As reported by AFP, Nigeria's Information Minister Dora Akunyili said Nigeria did not have a history of terrorism and such a move could not be justified. It is unfair to include Nigeria on the US list for tighter screening because Nigerians do not have terrorist tendencies. It is unfair to discriminate against over 150 million people because of the behaviour of one person.

[This changing one letter in his name could be a political like two members... ]

Yes Sister Irma I think it's amazing that he got into the country after all the hoopla about terrorism. Don't be surprised about changing the name or letter in the name, because Nigerians at birth can have has many names as their parents desire to give them due to cultural naming traditions. I can't say that this is the case for all Nigerians, but I do know that it is a practice of the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria. Of course if the kids are born here in the States, the birth cert only allows 3 names although they may bear mutiple names.

On a side note, I tend to agree with President Obama that the system failed to share the information which is similar to the problem that led to the attack on the WTC Towers. God bless those who lost their lives & may we all continue to remember their families and loved ones.

Jen, you know me well enough to know how "I" am about cause and effect(smile)

Cause, our manipulated news media and how we in America only get biased news
and almost never the underlining truths about the real world...

Effect; In this young man's trial which I chant (pray) is covered on C-Sapn, has already brought in his having an American visa.Hell this visa that allowed him to come to this country under the greatest "terrorist" president on the planet could have played a major role in his travels with so less concerns. This changing one letter in his name could be a political like two members of Black Water being called CIA agents as a political cover up in the blowing up of those 7 agents last week and Rachael's breaking news about we would be seeing this on the mass media soon(just my rational((smile))...

It is now being reported how devestated his country is and on the verge of starvation from the disregrade for his country and its peoples by the big oil companys...

and, more proof of what my sainted grandmother always said, "God may not always come when you call him, but he is always on time"(smile)

please keep these vital posts coming my sister...
