ELVIS FANS AND FAMILY CHEER HAPPY 75TH BIRTHDAY!

On Friday, January 08, 2010 hundreds of Elvis fans and family gathered in front of Graceland Plaza to celebrate what would of been Elvis's 75th birthday. The temperature in Memphis that morning was a low 16 degrees! That didn't stop the celebration as loyal fans showed up to with a chance to take part in the 75th year celebrating the of the birth of Elvis. Fans were presented with pieces of birthday cake and an opportunity to meet and greet his generations of Presleys. The cold weather didn't stop their warm birthday wishes.

YOUNG BOY IS SAVED FROM FREEZING POND

Memphis, TN--Bartlett
A Bartlett youth was saved from drowing in a frozen pond and is in critical condition. The youth was playing on the pond with several other children when he fell through the ice. Revived from a near death drowing the boy is being watched carefully. Doctors are keeping a close watch on the boy's condition and he is expected to make a full recovery. Weather conditions have caused temperatures to be in the teens with highs in the low twenties.

Happy Birthday Elvis! My aunt who died in August of '09 loved everything about Elvis and all I can remember on Sundays is her sitting in the living room watching Elvis' movies. I learned to love that cute hip gyrating White guy with his Black locks of hair! I think I would have braved the cold to eat the birthcake, too!
